I got the Malcom X quote from Wikiquotes, so if you don't think he said it I have no substance to argue otherwise.

And god damnit irony is the most used misunderstood word I come across. John Drowning dying from drowning is NOT ironic, it is a coincidence. David Swimmer dying from drowning IS ironic. Needing 420k signatures by 420 is not ironic, it is a coincidence. Needing 420k signatures by 420 and not getting them because the would-be voters are toking up is ironic, as ihavenoidea pointed out.

Thanks killian.
It's just that I looked high and low and couldn't find it.

Note that Wiki qualifies it, along with quite a few other's attributed to him, as yet to be vetted...

Default we are collecting signatures now

The vote won't even happen if we don't get enough signatures. The sig collection ends on 4/20/2008
we need another 200,000 to get on the ballot

so print out a petition and collect some sigs

Default could it be ironic, coincidentally?

I need a bonghit!

Its ironic because if the 420 stoners would have just spent their time to sign instead of smoke, they could smoke all they wanted after it gets passed. Just having a bunch of things with 420 in it is not irony. Irony is kind of hypocrisy between someones words or actions. Since by smoking on 420 the stoners obviously like to smoke, but one would argue that signing the petition would be more beneficial for you to be able to smoke overall, but since they didnt do that, it is irony.

Sorry to rag on your ideas there, and thanks for the numbers, just wanted to clear it up.

Please check the numbers, I think what they need is 420,000 valid signatures. In our State they routinely accept about 55% of the signatures turned it, I am sure that varies somewhat by state. VV

I am also curious about how close they are to signatures and how many of these signatures are deemed valid so far. Does anyone have any information about this?
