| The well known marijuana legalization activist Jack Herer is leading an initiative to get marijuana legalization on the 2008 November ballot in California. According to Jack Herer’s website, “This initiative will legalize Cannabis Hemp for (a) industrial products, (b) medicinal preparations, (c) nutritional products, (d) religious and spiritual products, and (e) recreational and euphoric use and products.” In addition, the initiative would provide for immediate amnesty and release from prison for any persons jailed for marijuana related offenses by the state of California. They are going to need 400,000+ signatures from California residents by April, which they are already well on their way to achieving. For more information on Jack Herer and his cause please visit Jack Herer’s website. Source: California: Legalize Pot In 2008 Herer's website: Welcome to Jack Herer's Home on the Web |

| That isn't irony but w/e. Help spread the word, even if you don't live in California progress is progress. Though I am reminded of a Malcom X quote....."You cannot drive a nail into a man's back nine inches, pull it back to six inches then call it progress". (If you're wondering, yes, I know the period is suppose to be placed inside the quotations, but that makes NO sense and I refuse to do so)

how is that NOT ironic, they need 420,ooo signatures, they have to have them by 4/20, and to top it off its a bill about MJ, incase you have missed out on the last several years of legalization process they made a bill for medical patients (proposition) 420, 420 is now a stoner holiday, i know that outside of california this is not as well known but if you didnt know than you do now so pretty much to summarize this 420,000 signatures, by 4/20, stoners favorite holiday 420, thats alot of 420's | |

| no, your describing coincidences, not irony. Irony would be if they were short 420 votes on 420 because 420 stoners were getting stoned instead of signing. Its ironic because if the 420 stoners would have just spent their time to sign instead of smoke, they could smoke all they wanted after it gets passed. Just having a bunch of things with 420 in it is not irony. Irony is kind of hypocrisy between someones words or actions. Since by smoking on 420 the stoners obviously like to smoke, but one would argue that signing the petition would be more beneficial for you to be able to smoke overall, but since they didnt do that, it is irony. Sorry to rag on your ideas there, and thanks for the numbers, just wanted to clear it up. |
