Cool Who Cares?

In all honesty, who cares if marijuana is legalized? Who feels like it's not neccesary anymore because of the decrimilization that has made simple possesion a misdemeanor just like a traffic ticket?

Are we getting lax and loosing site of our original goal, full legalization? Who here thinks it's enough right now. Who doesn't really care if it's "legal"? How many simply don't care if they are lawbreakers and say screw society when it comes to what you want to do?

Has anybody even been paying attention to what is happening with the war on drugs? The government has told local law enforcement that they are going to have their federal funding cut by as much as 70 percent. 70 percent! If we really put our hearts into this cause now, we could win. We could end our lives as criminals and just be citizens again in our country.

Your not a criminal you say? Sorry to tell you this, but in the eyes of most Americans, we are. We're just the same as to them. That is what I want to change, the perception that we are criminals. I am not. I do not seek to make my fortune with herb, I just want to be left alone to do with my body as I wish.

To me though it seems like we've dropped off the subject of legalization. It seems like we've forgotten all the brothers and sisters who are in jail now and all the others that will have to face that future. If for no other reason than that, we need to push harder now because we can win. We can stop this insane war on a plant that has more benefits than deficits, one that maybe could be used to make medicine for the sick and dying among all it's other wonderful benefits.

We're never going to see it. Not if we become lax. Not if we just say to hell with it, let somebody else do it. We are someone else. We're the ones who have to send a lousy dollar or two to NORML and MPP.

We're the ones who are going to have to push and push and keep on pushing until we have the right to our own bodies again.......

I picked "I do, I want my freedom" because I am a medical user. It's not fair that I am considered a criminal because I chose to help my pain and nausea with a plant.

Of course I care . Legalization effects my life and the lives of this whole country. Legalization is one huge key that frees up prisons, saves our money from the unsuccessful war on drugs, and gives us the freedom that we, as non-violent drug users, deserve. It gives us the opportunity to regulate price and usage, and tax the drug(s) to make money.

We should have the freedom to be able to choose what we put in our body. The only way the government should intervene is to regulate, and educate, period.

I definitely care. It's unfair that the marijuana smoking populous, the majority of which are all completely non-violent, can be looked at as criminals. We're treated like violent criminals that for no reason beat the shit out of people on the street or force people through threats to smoke herb. We are not this, and the government is absolutely 100% wrong in the way they handle the marijuana situation and the war on drugs in general. Cutting federal funding by up to 70% because they give people the freedom that this country was founded on? Damn that pisses me off!

Cool

President Dubya......

Quote:
"The Internet has brought about tremendous benefits for those who cannot easily get to a pharmacy in person," Bush said. "However, it has also created an opportunity for unscrupulous doctors and pharmacists to profit from addiction."

Bush's drug policy adviser, John Walters, said the government is now focusing its "supply, demand and prevention policies with the goal of seeing the same reductions that we have achieved for illegal `street' drugs."

A measure passed by the Senate Judiciary Committee last September seeks to stem the abuse of prescription drugs via the Internet. It requires that doctor meet with patients in person before prescribing medication and stiffens penalties for those who violate the rules. The bill awaits full Senate consideration.

"The damage can be done on a wide scale by a relatively small number of criminal actors here," Walters said. He mentioned cases of "rogue" Internet pharmacies that often do not require prescriptions or allow prescriptions to be faxed, making it easier for customers to forge documents or use it at multiple pharmacies.
This is the lie they are telling us now. Not herb, not cocaine, not heroine but presciption drugs. Marijuana? In Ohio it's a minor misdemeanor, a traffic ticket
is worse than simple possesion..........

Who do these fools think they are dealing with? Are we children to be lead around on a rope and led to do the right thing? I think not..........

We are seeing the government turn away from the war on herb smokers but they will continue as long as they can use scare tactics and propaganda to keep it illegal....

Why? Because of the money. Why would presciption drugs be a problem if bought off the internet? Because the big drug companies don't want to get their throats cut. That is the reason we still suffer. Big drug companies are loosing their monopoly on the "drug market" with the use of the net. Can't have their profits going some where else, now can we?

Drug policy? Horseshit..............

I know I said this recently, but one of the reasons we suffer is because the gov't is in bed with the Pharmaceutical companies.

I care. I sincerely do. In my mind, I see MJ as a safe alternative to alcohol. To damage a young persons possible future as a result of an MJ bust is, in itself, a crime.
I just read an article saying that 1 out of every 100 americans are in jail and I ask myself "How many of them are in jail for MJ issues?" You know we all may disagree about a lot of things but I think we all agree that MJ should be legal to some degree and the current drug policy in this country is in need of some serious overhaul.

Of course, i care too. I want to be free to choose what i CAN or CAN'T do. I dislike the idea of someone deciding for me. And i'm fed up to considered as a criminal just because i enjoy the pleasure offered by Mother Nature. And in the mean time saw Pro Sport Player considered as semi-god for performances due to hard chemical drug...Freedom is a right ! For us too !

It's hard not to care when you know you are not doing any damage to anyone else or yourself.

Nothing that grows naturally on the Earth's surface should be illegal. We were born into this place. No one OWNS this planet. Subsequently, no one should be able to tell me what I can and can't use on it. It's ridiculous that we have made the use of a natural plant (who's effects are not dangerous) illegal.

The amount of money spent on the war on marijuana is a joke and everyone in here knows it...
