Default Why is it illegal?

I got a better question !
Why are we still asking the same question we were asking thirty years ago........I didn't have the answer then ,,,,,and I don't think i'M ANY CLOSER TO IT TODAY !
This political run around, and dodging the issues has got to stop...We need organization by the millions, press coverage,a public figure to focus our energies on .Marijuana Prohibition,as it's being dictated to us, must end.b.s.

and I'm out

Default Exactly!

What suede says.
People, we have then on the ropes, lets hit them hard.
I will not demean this debate by trivializing it.
But we have got to get there first!
And the older among us remember how that works, the squealy wheel gets the grease.
I realize I am beginning to sound a bit like a broken record, but I am deathly afraid we are gona lose this momentum.
The other concersn, Big Tobacco becoming Big Weed, well, they are valid, but not until we get this legal.
Personally, I think I would rather buy from a local organic grower if I haven't got the skills to grow my own.
I will admit to a human tendency to buy the most readily available.
As far as outset time, naaah I do not see it, once legal suüpplies can come from Canada, the U.K. Switzerlynd etc.
Big Business has extensive experience in exactly this area.
But I will take Big tobacco any day over the little dealer who might mix something nasty into low grade weed.
And it is a concern for tomorrow.
today, lets get the job done.
Kelly

Default no no no

no way will tobacco smokers stop smoking if they have the chance to smoke mj legally. if this were true, I would have quite smoking tobacco a long time ago. In no way does have a joint lesson the craving for a tobacco ciggarette. thinking that it does is just the same as thinking that eating a sandwich will lesson the urge. The main reason that I haven't quite smoking tobacco yet is BECAUSE of my smoking of mj. Every time I get stoned I want a ciggarette more than ever.

How are these mj importers of the present going to one up the tobacco companies? There really is no way that will happen. For one thing I'm not going to go down to my dealer and pay 50 dollars for a few joints if mj get's legalized. The mj drug lords know nothing of marketing a product, all they know is how to run a black market. Does anyone really think that these drug lords are going to waste their time with a low profit legal substance? If/when mj is legalized the people who control the market for it now will not control it then.

Default biggie, I gotta disagree

It is my own personal experience, I smoke fewer cigarettes when I smoke marijuana, down to actually quitting smoking tobacco completely, until the weed ran out, which only happened because it is illegal.
It obviously affects you differently.
But I really think the tobacco industry is going to see the general acceptance of marijuana among their favorite target group, teens, and start looking at market diversification.
will it help??
Umm they have a huge amount of clout, and why let even one dollar go to someone else.

Cool KWhite-

I quit smoking cigarettes six and one half years ago.It is a fact that I used herb to quit.I had a steady, quality supply that enabled me to stop because I had a substitute for my addiction. For me,having an addictave personality,I knew that substitution was the only way that I could quit.Herb was my substitution.
Of course, anyone can believe what ever they want to believe,I used will power or whatever. This is a fact though-I went from three packs a day to nothing. No way that anyone is going to tell me it was for any other reason than my herb.I heard the same things then that I'm hearing now, even the old saw about how bad the craving is after I smoked a joint. The fact remains, though,I haven't smoked a cigarette in over 61/2 years.
Back on track--- I believe that we are at a turning point. We are standing on the edge of a precipice waiting for the legalization of herb to be a reality. If, as you all have said, tobacco will just switch over without a murmer, then why aren't they on our side?Just more money for them, right?
It is illegal because we won't stand up and vote people out of office who don't believe that herb is beneficial. The Colorado officials should be voted out of office over their comments against the medical marijuana bill voted on by the voters.Take away their ivory tower and they will see things our way pretty damn quick.Imagine the outrage they would have to have in a state where the elected officials went against the will of the voters. That has to be one stupid politician to do that.Coloradans-get out and vote!!!
