| I was thinkin bout this last night. Lets say weed was legalized. Farmers would then freely grow it. But don't you think most farmers would start off making some pretty crappy weed? Considering they didn't have much background in it? So wouldnt it take awhile after legalization to actually start finding some good stuff? Hmmm.... I think the farmers would need to hire the guys from OPOvergrow to help em out ![]() |

| First off...If that govt. ever did do that, you really think it would be done overnight? Without discussion? I think farmers and weed growers would follow VERY closley.Don't you?? It's not like one morning you will wake up and all of a sudden out of the blue....POT is legal...RIGHT? And who cares if some farmers grew dirt swag?? If it was legal, you could just grow your own good sh*t right? Quote:
There is more than dirt weed out ther now...right??? So WTF were you thinking to ask a stupid question like that??Don't you think the "good weed" will still be there??? Or just because it is legal...there will only be dirt around??/ Please explain, because sometimes I think people post questions like this just to be called names and so on...Is it for the attention maybe??? Please explaine!!!!!! ![]() | |

| I think that once weed is leagalized, pot quality will be much better. I think there will be "brick weed" around but for very cheap.

| Yeah I've always thought that a pot farmers would make it the best quality possible. And since marijuana is so easy to grow compared to all the other things farmers grow, it should be pretty easy for them to grow some good stuff.

| I think what he may mean is that the farmers may not know what a female plant and a male plant looks like so in result they may leave the two together and get seedy weed. (Which is alot cheaper and takes alot less work to grow, Just throw out some seeds and watch it grow) Actually unless they grow it in a greenhouse it would probably be pretty hard to keep a crop growing outdoors like corn and all ofthat. Since I've heard animals love the taste of marijuana. But we will always have good weed, it's just that the dealers and all will have to start paying taxes on it. Which will probably be a ***** considering the tax will probably be very high. Probably alot higher than the alcohol taxes or cigarette taxes. If its legal, why not grow your own and forget about paying the taxes and worrying about the quality of the stuff? If you know how to grow it you are guarenteed high quality weed.

| i think there'll be a large variety of weeds, with both good and bad. the bad stuff would be cheaper, like GPC cigs, whereas the good stuff will cost more, like cuban cigars. and i'm sure regualr farmers will crumble before the power of experienced covert growers. if they grow that good in secret, wait till they don't gotta hide! BTW, i'm planning a non-profit weed grow/distro collective (after legalization or whatever) in the South Bay area of Cali. Wiki page will soon be up for ideas/info/contribution. Hopefully it will happen and provide an alternative to corporate/capitalist weed control. maybe i'll post another thread on the idea. could also work with medi-dank in some states.

| I think if it is legalized the quality would not be much different. You could buy the cheap weed along with the high grade. ![]() |

| Here in AL, weed is already the number one cash crop! legalization would mean better info for these farmers, no restraints because of security concerns, entrepeneurial initiative, competition to benefit the consumer, etc. regular pot smokers are 20 million strong already under prohibition! Any capital investor with half a brain is gonna want to cash in on this already knowledgeable user base. Don't only expect quality to increase when you finally are able to walk into a gas station and buy a dime bag (oh my god...) but expect prices to be a fraction of what they were. Hell, with prohibition gone, if quality of commercial weed is bad and so are the prices, smokers will just grow their own, so any capital venture will have to get it's act together to make money at all; we, as a market, aren't easily screwed. ![]() |

| I really doubt the prices would drop too much. I mean, If it cost's 10 dollars for a dime bag now, and people are paying that price...why drop the price? It doesn't really make sense. It would be like gas prices(with supply and demand) and cigarette prices with taxes... I REALLY doubt we'll ever see a true "dime" bag. And there will probably be a limit on how much THC you can have in each joint (kinda like how some states won't sell liquor with a really high alcohol content.. for example). |
