| Too bad that there aren't any pro pot candidates who have half a chance of winning. |

| The D.E.A. does not make law- They can and do lobby for existing laws to remain as written or for any new "Tools" they think they want, but in the end, they are bound to follow the law as written. I think legalization must lead to a downsizing of the D.E.A. and or a move of those well trained agents to other areas of policing. As far as candidates, maybe they are afraid they will be left standing alone out in the cold if they open thier mouths- Write those letters people. Let them know different.

| Heh- Is anyone reading the editorials lately? I'm still just as optimistic, and I had a chance to tell my republican representative that as long as he continued to spew the lies that were falling diarrhea like from his mouth, he could forget about any vote I might cast- twice, he actually wrote me back a second time. Stubborn, I suppose, or deluded. Maybe he thought I didn't mean what I said. |

| Contacting our elected officials is the key. Right now, every congressperson and senator needs to get a lot of mail supporting HR 5842 (medical mj) and 5843 (personal mj). It's the bulk of letters that count, not the eloquence. I've written my congressman and both senators (one wrote back, so I wrote him again. It's time for me to write the others again, now that I think about it.) Hey, they're scared to death of being labeled "soft on drugs." Let's let em know that supporting these two bills will get them MORE votes, so they can be RE-ELECTED if they support this effort. Ask them to become co-sponsors! Numbers count, so write early and write often. |
