Default Legalize by 2010 movement- lets push- hard!

Please read this-

LEGALIZE BY 2010

Why The War On Drugs Must And Will Be Ended Within The Next Half Decade

CN AB: Column: Legalize By 2010

And then let's see about doing as he says at the end-

People, my political bone tells that it is time, after the last years, people are TIRED of idiotic and over bearing government-

Can we do this, can we yell?

**Goes to set an old fashioned pen and paper letter down to his congress person in Wyoming, senate too.**

Can we mail that to Obama? Or the other candidates?

**...Pauses..takes a deep breath and tries it, something so unfamiliar...**

Stop the STUPIDITY- GET off my BACK! Legalize WEED!... NOW!

There, now I feel better.

This was a good read. I think the time can be soon. Although, I'd like to mention that the people in the 70's felt that it would be legalized in 10-20 years. As far as the political view, I agree 100%. Obama agrees in decriminalizing(But has also denied decriminalizing) None the less, it is a great step forward.

A good read. I haven't heard Obama really take the jump into the issue. He's mostly been trotting out the party line...they don't want to legalize drugs, but giving more money to treatment centers sounds pretty good....

We're less than two years from 2010. I really doubt we'll be smoking in the public by then....

We won't know unless we try-

I read somewhere, perhaps it was here, that elected repres3entatives actually notice hand written letters- it seems the logic goes likethis, so few people actually take the time to sit down and write a letter detailing thier views, buy a postage stamp and send it off that it gets them interested.

Geez, I'll have to paraphrase... please forgive.

"Nobody writes in about anythig anymore so if we got one letter on an issue, it made us think about it and if we received ten, then we really sat up and took a look- these guys are iot he busioness to get re elected and people who tewill take the time to actually write also vote..."

Best I can do on memory.

That and commit to really going to the next hemp fest in your neighborhood- or organizing one. Get together with responsible people who smoke, put together a protest, maybe you will only get thirty people together, but if that happens four times a week through the summer in your state, hey, it is news, and it sends a message "Dear elected representative- we won't castrate you if you do the common sense thing...".

Stop the imprisonment

End the insanity.

One of the good things, just as happened at the repeal of alcohol prohibition is that the media has turned- then as now, the results of prohibition became ever more clear and people lost their fear of being called nasty names by sneering prohibitionists and started speaking out- speaking their mind. Most pointedly the news media and the churches.

This is no different.

People, people-

What can we do???

Somebody hold a cannabis bake sale and invite all the candidates to it....

Default The time IS now!

If last election a nevada came within 8% points of legalization, I am confident that weed can be legalized by 2010 and def by 2020 especially if americans are sick of our current presidental setting. You may see more than just marijuana legalization in our lifetimes, our prison system is in a huge need of an overhaul. Anybody interested should read the book "Violence: A National Epidemic" by James Gilligan. I had to read it for one of my college courses, it is a very enlightening book.

There is already a thread concerning peoples guesses as to when MJ will be legalized. I tend to believe it will happen after the 2nd coming but before Hell freezes over.

Some of the author's economic arguments for legalization are completely logical, but logic has little to do with political motivation. It made no sense for us to go into Iraq, but we've spent 800 billion dollars on it, so far.

The idea that taxing marijuana will somehow fix this nation's debt problems is absurd. The author points to the $8 billion marijuana industry in British Columbia as an example and asks us to expand that to the United States. It's estimated that the US marijuana business is worth $40 billion. The reason it's that high is because we pay at least 10 times what the weed would be worth if it weren't being sold on the black market. Remove the black market and the value drops to $4 billion. Tax it at 100%. That would cover maybe a week of the Iraq war's expenses.

only problem with the 60's, not enough violence behind the cause. i know i'll hear alot of shit about "violence doesn't solve anything" but in some cases, it does. some people only understand violence. as long as we fear the gov't, nothing will change. nothing. the feds don't give a good goddamn about what the people want. if they did, then why would they perform these raids in dispensaries in states where the majority of the people have said "yeah, it's ok". they aren't going to care how many petitions you signed, how many rallies you marched in. until every last one of them are dead, this war will see no end. 74 years and they can't turn around and say they were wrong, that they didn't really know. they would lose the people's trust and in turn be torn down. so, please don't babble on with the non-violence bullshit. peace and love, yes, but if it means a war for human rights, so be it.
