| I just discovered that I double posted about this topic--I guess we all get excited when the nation seems to favor our reform movement. It is the Internet, however. Are Internet opinion polls taken seriously, or are they dismissed quickly? In any case, I will probably still reference this poll in future letters to legislators in Congress. |

| I tend to respect internet statistics more than government statistics. I e-mailed Lou Dobbs and reminded him that he's painting a pretty gloomy picture of the drug culture. There's a difference between the street urchins in Vancouver and the mainstream marijuana users. I also pointed out the hypocrisy about Americans who indulge in alcohol, caffiene, cigarettes, perscription drugs, AND illegal drugs while supporting the incarceration of marijuana smokers. Did not receeive a reply but will post it here if I receive one. |

| About Internet Polls... ...and Polls in general... Polls are a very usueful tool, but they are simply a method of getting statistics. IN and of themselves they saay nothing, but the information can be used to substantiate facts if carefully applied. What the CNN poll can tell us is that a certain percentage of people who: - have computer access -respond to polls of this type - and responded to thiis poll in this time frame have this specific response.... Now the important work comes in to play. Who are these particular people? That's what Statisticians will start describing And of the most interest to politicianss, those who thrive on polls I must add, do these people VOTE? If it can be shown statistically that these folks who fit the CNN poll are voters than the the issue is one to be considered by the Politicians. Interestingly enought the politicians who are using this information to their benefit are Republicans -- More Republican Governors have signed into law medical marijnuana bills than Democrat Governors. I find that an interesting statistic in and of itself. Best I can tell you is ...if you TOKE ...VOTE ....and have a cookie ![]() Hugz, Mama Budz | |

| I keep my voter registration card in my office and I will cast my vote only for those who at least have moderate views about marijuana usage. |

| You can actively vote AGAINST someone too you know... And when you sign up to vote, sign up under a party you HATE... That way you can vote in their Primary too and your comments on letters, et al are taken more seriously...really kids, it works that way! | |

Wouldn't that be fascinating? But since they don't...your question remains theoretical...mine conceptual! If you are going to be bother to BE politically active join a party where you can be a HEARD voice! At least join a party with a Primary and get 2 bites of the Apple ![]() | |

| I don't think that I could, in good conscience, join the political party I hate. I don't indentify with any particular political party. What I like to do is vote for the candidate/s who I perceive to have the best plans for the economy, health care, the war on terrorism, and the legalization of marijuana. |
