Default Poll shows Americans are for Legalization!

Today on Lou Dobbs on CNN, after a weeklong series of slanted stories about the war on drugs, Cnn did a poll today asking americans if they supported decriminalization of marijuana. 92% said YES, 8% said NO.

92%!!!!

If this is still a democracy, then 9/10's of the american population supporting new legislation should mean new law, right? Apparently, wrong. The government in it's infinite wisdom has decided to play mom with us, telling us that they know better, and we're paying them to do it!

92%! I was very, very surprised.

Thoughts?

It takes a little more than an internet poll to make a law. But this should be a pretty big hint to the legislature that this is something that needs to happen, and needs to happen soon. he government of America is run pretty crappy. It takes so long for something to become a law, so the whole damned government is 20 years behind on the issues.....

Did they already show the thing on CNN about if u can't beat em join em? Darn, I wanted to watch that. Oh well. I think that not decriminalizing MJ is total bs. The government is full of a bunch of idiots, that only care about the size of their wallet.

also consider that people who are oppressed are more likely to do things to express their frustration... maybe lots of potheads voted but other people didnt bother....

i know if i ever saw a poll like that on the net i'd vote twice.

i believe America is ready to move on. Latley (a gaggillion years) the government as a whole, is totally wrapped up in the drug war. Imagine how peacefull it will be the day they stop worrying about the "little pothead", and move to more important issues in the nation!

The "Forgotten War" story lasted about 15 minutes and featured our hero, John Walters, spreading his status quo lies.

They displayed herion, meth, and crack junkies in a poor district of Vancouver as representatives of the drug culture and a picture of a hideous skull alongside marijuana leaves and needles.

It's obvious that the media is spinning away against the legalization of any drug.

Quite interesting to note most of the ad campaigns, religious movements, and justice department initiatives are being oriented against marijuana.

If 50% of the Americans want marijuana legalized, then 50% of the ads and effort by the government should be for legalization.

We are the people, and it's our responsibility to fire or recall the politicians if they go against our collective will.

For those who want to learn a lot more about the political environment in Congress, rent or buy "The Distinguished Gentleman" with Eddie Murphy. This movie is not only funny, but very educational.

Default CNN Poll

This may have been discussed already in another thread, if so please delete/close/move thread as appropriate.

I just received this through my NORML Action Cell group and was asked to vote and pass it along to others. Please do so and share your comments.
