| I think the best way to change people's minds on the pot issue is to have them smoke weed. Now I know this is really idealistic, and I'm sure telling someone if you smoke this you'll realize it should be legal, in 90 percent of cases isn't going to get someone to smoke weed, but its been my experience that this is true. I, personally believed every word of the DARE bs I was fed in the 5th grade, until I actually started smoking reefer. Even after the first couple times I wondered if this would make me stupid or if next I'd be doing cocaine. After awhile, though, I started to realize I wasn't experiencing any of the negative side effects I was told I would, except the munchies, and decided to do some research into the subject, in order to find out what this substance I was putting into my body actually did. After much reading I began to realize, hey this drug doesn't cause any of these horrible inflictions the government claimed it would. From that point on I became much more skeptical of everything the government told me, especially when it came to marijuana. That's been my experience anyway, and I've seen the same effect with my brother and several of my friends, whi realized after using bud for an extended period of time didn't cause the damage we were told it would. Therefore I feel that experiencing smoking ganja is likely the best way to influence one's opinion on the subject of legalization. Though I know its not plausible to expect every nonsmoker to agree to try, especially with the stigma around it, but with some it may be a way to change their preconceptions. Let me know what you think about this. BTW - sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum. |
