Out of all 3 of the candidates. His views on drugs is nothing more than believing it's a failure. He has admitted, ADMITTED to once being a pothead. He himself knows, like allot of other people in the world knows. That smoking marijuana is not as bad as everyone else thinks. If used from personal use and medical use, it should not be illegal. Period.

I read your linked article. Why was he standing with his hands clasped in front of him while all the other people in the photo had their hands over their hearts? The article never addresses this issue. It just denies the email rumor.

Your article dates to 10/27/07. Here is the video and photo in an article dated 10/20/07. The event reportedly took place on 10/1/07. Why is his hand never over his heart?

He is seen singing the anthem, but never places his hand over his heart. Again, why?

as to the reported reason, unless someone has it on tape, I guess it is just a he said/she said situation. The fact that he never placed his hand over his heart was true tho, so I will accept that apology for that "spreading rumors" crack.

If my Mother, Brother, friend, etc. tells me something that they have heard - something that reflects on another person's honesty and integrity, I don't just go around publishing it to the world without first finding out, to the best of my ability, whether it can be substantiated or if it's just rumor and inuendo to suit someone else's known or unknown agenda.
I think that's pretty basic common sense where someone has fair play in mind.Which goes to one of the points in my first response regarding posting something that is quite likely to prove out to be no more than inflammatory rhetoric (at best).
What's the point? It's not like you posted the quote and said something like,'Hey, what do you all think about this. You posted it and then used it to castigate Obama. See the difference?

If you want, I'll be happy to find you a post showing just how many people in politics don't wear pins.

We are in a country at "war", health care problems, economic problems, and global resource problems... and you choose to focus on media propaganda? Which... even if it was true by some weird chance, and he just didn't care to ever put his hand on his heart... that for some reason makes him a horrible person?

I would rather have a better country than someone that adorns themselves with cliche patriotic pins stamped out in chinese factories.

I'm reminded of a quote by Sinclair Lewis:

It seems a little sensationalist and alarmist to be pointing out that Obama having his hands clasped in front of him could be an expression of anti-American sentiment. How dare Obama not jump and clap his hands with the rest of the seals! If that doesn't disqualify him for the position of commander-in-chief, I don't know what does. He might as well have burned an American flag and doused the flames with his own urine.

I never disputed the veracity of him not placing his hand over his heart, simply that his comments, which I interpretted to be the the rhetorical focal point of your post, were not true. Sorry if I was mistaken and/or not clear enough.

I would just like to say thanks to everyone for making this post. I had an idea of Obama's marijuana stance but this solidifies it. I really hope he finishes off that ice queen soon so we can move on already. I am starting to wonder if she has a chance, in that case I am not going to even bother voting.
