I have seen a few dispensary raids. And you cannot sit there and tell me to not hate them. Fuck them, and everyone they know. They are low life scumbags who get enjoyment out of fucking up state laws. I know this is only a movie, but I was watching Super High Me, and as a DEA agent was putting the marijuana in the vehicle, he had a fucking smile on his face.
Not that it matters, but do you know why he was smiling? And you're right....you were just watching a movie and movies aren't real.
Once again, when the federal authorities legalize MJ, the DEA will stop going after MJ users. Its as simple as that. Hey but go ahead and believe that the DEA is made up of ex-nazis and KGB agents out to destroy the US constitution and steal all your freedoms. It makes a much better story than the TRUTH.

The way I see it, the DEA is executive force in the War on Drugs. Aren't they? They are the ones that enforce the drug laws we find so absurd. That is their job. The 'smiley-glad-hands' (politician) makes the law and his minions (po-pos) carry out his will.

Joking aside, I understand they are people too, and are simply doing their job. They have families, personal beliefs and may even disagree with the War on Drugs, specifically marijuana. Very much like other officers of the law such as police, and how they are usually genuinely nice people with good intentions but they are often stereotyped with the 'pig' mentality, in effect diminishing the prestige and respect police deserve.

However, with the DEA it is very much the same, but slightly different. Their personal stances on the War on Drugs aside they are just doing their job, however, when your job is involved in enforcing draconian drug laws, executing malicious raids and exacerbating the fallacy of the drug war, 'all in a days work', at the expense of my tax dollars, I have practically no respect for you.

You are no agent of justice, in fact, your the opposite of such. You can fall off the face of the planet, and as far as I am concerned, the world would be a better place -- one less United States government DEA agent.

I feel really sad for you. I really do. They are just law enforcement officers enforcing the laws they are instructed to enforce....Can you not see that or are you too blinded by ignorance and the overwhelming hatred you have concerning the laws they HAVE to enforce? They aren't "malicious" but rather methodical. They target people and organizations which they feel are doing the most "damage" (in their eyes) and arresting them. If they're innocent then the jury will free them.

No, I'm equating your statement "they HAVE to do it" with the Nuremberg Defense, because that's exactly what it is.

In the military there are lawful orders and unlawful orders. When an officer gives an order that the soldier deems unlawful, they do not have to follow it. There is then a hearing to determine if in fact the orders were unlawful. The same situation applies to the DEA and any government organization. You're comparing the legal organizations of the Third Reich to the various groups within the Justice Department and here is where you are wrong. There are mechanisms in place within the US government where, if you don't like a law, you can change it. Within the Third Reich, there was no such mechanism. The DEA and the people who work within the DEA are neutral pawns merely executing the orders given to them by the Justice Department. Here is an idea....go to your Senator or Representative and have him propose a bill which would legalize MJ. Now if such a law was passed and the DEA acted in the manner you describe, then they would just ignore it and keep arresting people. But what would happen in reality is this....the DEA would simply focus their priorities on other missions given to them by Congress and the Justice Department and ignore MJ.
But its so much easier to call the people who work for the DEA a bunch of bastards and devils than it is to really fix the problem.

Bernie420,

The more you talk, the more I get the feeling that you're a cop. If you're so sympathetic to these domination junkies, maybe this isn't the right forum for you to be posting on.

Incorrect. In Ehren Watada's hearing a judge ruled that US military officers and enlisted men do not have the right to refuse unlawful orders.

Statement void - officers and enlisted men cannot refuse unlawful orders.

Correct. They have no option except to obey the orders they're given by their superiors.

No, I'm highlighting the fact that "only following orders" the Nuremburg Defense. If you notice, they weren't the first to use it, they were just the first to use it so publicly. It was named after, not invented by the trials involving Nazi's.

That doesn't change the defense used.

Yes, there was.

Not "neutral," any more than police organization employed by the government. They're inherently biased to obey their orders from their superiors.

I didn't "describe" anything.

I agree, I never said otherwise.

I never called them bastards or devils.

I have absolutely no problem with the DEA, I think the majority of their work is done well.

And, if you look back through my posts, not once did I compare the DEA to the Third Reich. I'll say again... "What you lack in understanding, you're more than make up for with the ability to speak without it. "

Please, re-read my posts, and understand what the Nuremberg defense is, then come back and try to have an intelligent conversation about this topic.

Plains, obviously you disagree (from your groan), would you mind expanding on that?

I find it hard to believe that you've said "no thank you" to that post, since I didn't even post an opinion - I just posted facts (with the exception of the last bit, about not being against the DEA).
