One question I have about the Fusion Center system as it is in place now, is will this or has it already had an impact on California’s (or other state’s) Medical Marijuana Programs? It would be almost irresistible for the FEDs to use ...

I have no doubt that the Fed's are already well entrenched in their surreptitious (and otherwise) monitoring of we American citizens.
And to be fair, we have only ourselves to blame.
The average American is selfish, disinterested and all too often functionally illiterate when it comes to the realities of our government's agenda and behavior.
They tell us what to believe and Joe and Jane citizen says absolutely, no problem. After all, we elected them right? And they're there to protect our best interests, right?
What a fucking crock of shit! Are we ever going to wake up?

I'm not normally a cynic but when it comes to subjects like this I can't do anything but shake my head in bewilderment and disgust at our inane gullibility.
Each and every day - no, allow me to rephrase, - Each and every second that passes by allows the strangle hold to tighten around our collective necks vis-a -vie the endless chorus spun from our well oiled propaganda machine - "for the sake of the country", "to protect us from all those 'terrorists' just around the corner (or is it under the bed?) frothing at mouth in anticipation of their pending rape, pillage and murder of we the people." Oh yes, upstanding citizens of the world that we are, We, who all those millions we've shat upon over the last two centuries, love so much.
While this may seem a digression, it is a critical factor specific to your question.
We have abrogated our inalienable rights as responsible human beings and handed our power, lock, stock, and barrel, to the government - in this case the Feds.
You think that the surveilling of the citizenry of this country by the Feds is real?
It sure is and brother, just wait a few years. Our necks may be just a little bit sore at the moment. All to soon it'll be too late and our heads won't feel a thing...

Just the exact thing I was thinking as I read the article. There are many, many, people who are blind, deaf and dumb when it comes to marijuana. If you ask them what cannabis is they do not know. Ever since the infamous "Reefer Madness" the government has tailored its propaganda onto more believable, yet totally wrong/biased, platforms. This May 3, 2008 Iowa's part in the World Wide Legalize Marijuana March starts at noon and at 3:00 pm we head for a park where bands play into the night. Lucky for me I get paid the day before. In Iowa one of the biggest signs we have is "LET US GROW OR WE WILL GO" my personal favorite. I can't stand these politicians like Sen Tom Harkin (D-Ia) who believe and have a prepared form letter to prove it, that using marijuana is as addictive as heroin, cocaine and meth. That if you smoke marijuana you will find yourself huddled in a corner shaking waiting to sell your children for just one more hit of marijuana This guy votes and thinks whatever he is told to by whoever owns him, soon he, and others like him, will be voted out of office or die. Then they will be replaced by proper thinking, nonprejudicial people who believe that the use of marijuana is utterly harmless compared to alcohol and cigarettes and that the decision is best left up to the individual whether they choose to use it recreationally instead of alcohol or medically when prescribed by their physician. Which is a move in a positive more healthy way for alcohol is much more damaging to the human condition than marijuana is. Hell my parents tried to tell me pot was no good but they had no clue and were repeating what the government taught them through it's billion dollars a year anti-marijuana ad campaigns, I'm 54 by the way. Only in 2008 did congess cut Bush's anti-marijuana ad campaign from billions of dollars a year to just millions of dollars a year. Do they think money grows on trees? Well actually the paper they print it on might but lumber sources are dwindling and someday marijuana will be legal medically, recreationally and Industrially (Hemp) when that happens they will switch over to printing money on hemp paper which is a much sturdier paper. I would much rather live in a society where people have the choice between a legal recreational drug , marijuana, that is much healthier for humans than alcohol is. Plus, not that I condone it but it happens now with alcohol, I would much rather have a stoned person behind the wheel of a car than a drunk person. Why? Because alcohol will make a person aggressive and marijuana makes one passive. Who would you rather have in a car on your ass? It couldn't be better put than what their own DEA Chief Administative Law Judge says about marijuana. "Marijuana in its natural form, is one of the safest theraputically active substances known. It would be unreasonable, arbitrary and capricious for the DEA to stand between those sufferer's and the benefits of this substance."---Francis L. Young, DEA Chief Administrative Law Judge, 1988. Peace...
