I am Major from Columbus, Ohio. This is my short story. I have lived most of my life in chronic pain. I go to sleep in pain. Pain follows me in my dreams. I wake up in pain. I have several medical conditions, with some being non-treatable. I've been on several,strong, prescribed medications. Unfortunately, some of you who live in severe pain, have experienced the dicataorship of insurance companies. They decide the amount of medication, per month that you can have. They also decide what kinds of meds that they will pay for. Most of the time, their decisions make your medication quantity short of what you need to sustain you throughout the month. I do not have an addictive personality. It's not the buzz that I'm after. I need assistance from anyone who can help me get the medical marijuana card. It does have benefits that help those with severe pain issues, without the side affects of chemical based medications. My request is... Can you assist me with getting a medical marijuana card, even though I live in the state of Ohio. Life is more precious than death. And quality more valuable than quanity. If it wasn't for the faith, sometimes pain will cause you to choose death. - Major

Ohio is not a medical marijuana state, so it would be impossible for you to obtain a card there. I am in the same situation as you, so I understand your situation.

Possession of small amounts of marijuana in Ohio is a mere violation, not a misdemeanor or felony. If you're caught with it, you'll just get fined about $100.

I'd say, with such light penalties, you don't really need a medical marijuana card in Ohio. If you want to smoke marijuana for medicinal purposes, do it - just be prepared to pay a $100 fine if you get caught.

Whats up, Willie Nelson? Thank you for the message that you sent to me. Marijuana is an herb and a flower.
GOD is right and the government got it wrong. Yes, possession of small amounts of
Marijuana in Ohio is a mere violation, not a misdemeanor and if caught, just a fine of
about $100. I have no problem with that. But the problem is... I am an ordained minister. I would not want to "make the cross weak" to believers and other clergy, in the event that I would get fined, have my name in the headlines and offend anyone. That's why I feel that the marijuana medical card would assist in avoiding that type of situation. I guess I'm caught between a rock and a hard place. I was just wondering... Are you the Willie Nelson counrty singer? If it is... I love your music.
I was working for a moving company back in the 80's and was in a house that you used to own that was in the mountain in Denver Colorado. What a beautiful home! If you here or know of anything that could possibly help, please let me know.

Well, then, don't get caught.

You don't live in a medical marijuana state, so either you're going to move out to California (or some other state that allows mmj), or you're going to stay in Ohio and take the risk or quit smoking altogether. Those are your options. We here at mj.com have our hands tied. We cannot make marijuana legal for medicinal purposes for you in Ohio, so what the hell would you like us to do for you? We've shared whatever information we have with you, so what more do you want?

Do some of your own research or go call your Senator or Representative if you want the laws changed.

If possession of small amounts of marijuana is just a ticketable offense (a violation), you probably won't be in the "headlines" anyway. Do you see headlines in the newspaper about people getting fined $100 for possession? Do you see headlines about people getting parking tickets?

Honestly, my guess is that you don't even live in Ohio and that you are, in fact, just some sort of troll on these boards. Otherwise, you'd know that Ohio is not a medical marijuana state, and you would've known that possession is just a very minor violation. You'd also know that headlines very rarely make any mention about minor pot arrests, because the public could care less. Even where I live, where possession of marijuana is a much more punishable offense, you don't see headlines about people getting busted with one or two grams on them. Sure, there might be a sentence or two about it in the police blotter, but that's hardly what I'd consider a major story or headline.

That's really not funny.

I was one of two people that responded to this thread to help you, and you're going to insult me and make lame cutdowns like that? Obviously I'm not Willie Nelson. Read my profile. Or, read the part where I quoted, yes, QUOTED, Willie Nelson. If I were him, why would I quote myself?

Didn't mean to offend you. I thought it was just a conversation. I'm not a troll, like you stated. I DO live in OHIO and AM in pain 24/7. I've let other people check out your reply to me and they don't see how you got so offended and then turned to insult. My deepest apologies. I believe that if my seeking information about MMJ will cause this kind of rude reaction, I'll just end my account with this space.

I don't smoke marijuana, but was told that it would help the pain without adverse reactions like chemical based medicines.

I said you might be a troll because you came here asking for advice, received the advice you needed, and then proceeded to not only demand that we all do something for you because you don't want to get into trouble, but also to talk to me as if I were Willie Nelson. Like I said, we can't make Ohio a mmj state. We cannot get you a mmj card. We really can't do much more for you than we already have, which was to give you advice.

I didn't find your Willie Nelson comment to be even the least bit funny. Obviously I'm not him. Given that no one has ever made that mistake before, and given that you seemed overly sarcastic and just out-and-out weird, I assumed you meant to compare me to him as some sort of a lame joke.

I wasn't trying to run you off the site or be needlessly cruel to you. Stick around and you might find more information that will help you with your situation.

and @major i feel ur pain, i just made a post in this same sub forum im in quite alot of pain most of the time smoking has helped but now my dentist told me to stop smoking, read my thread if u wanna know more, i dont wanna change the topic. but my advice to you would be just smoke it in your own home and then nobody gets hurt

Well, as others have stated Ohio is currently not a medical marijuana state. Getting a medical marijuana card in Ohio is simply impossible.

Yup, the herb is powerful medicine, with out any of those nasty side effects...

Like we've said, Ohio isn't a medical state. Their is no way for you to get a medical exemption for legally using marijuana.

Well, your faced with a few decisions...
You can continue your prescription medications and current way of life, living in constant pain, dependent on synthetic medication and your insurance companies or you can try to (illegally) obtain marijuana. I know, it's scary that your breaking the law, but it really is the only way right now.... Hopefully, common sense will prevail and medical marijuana will become legal in Ohio eventually.

Try to find someone you trust, someone who can be discreet, safe and responsible with the knowledge of you as a customer.
I don't know about your history with marijuana, or purchasing marijuana, but we have a few threads around here discussing finding a consistent dealer.
