I recently read an article about how marijuana smoke is more dangerous than cigarette smoke. It said that marijuana smoke has a better chance of giving you lung cancer because it has a certain chemical in it. What do you guys think?

Actually tobacco is more dangerous because it contains one of the worst chemicals u can put in yer body...nicotine...this hardens artery's and is very additctive marijuana smoke isn't.....tobacco smokers chain smoke which is bad fer yer lungs....weed smokers only smoke until there high and do not always get high in the same day or even week....plus since weed is illegal all of most have to hide to smoke it and we only smoke a little so we don't get caught....MARIJUANA is 100% better than that nasty $hit tobacco

That a common tactic prohibitionists use, but there has never been a study done (to my knowledge) that proves marijuana smokers have a greater chance of getting cancer than tobacco smokers.

I read an article that said if you smoked an equal amount of tobacco and marijuana, that the pot would have 4x the amount of tar as the tobacco. However, a single cig is packed so tightly that it would be nearly impossible to get that much in a joint. Plus pot smokers rarely smoke more than one or two joints, and cig smokers usually smoke packs at a time. I don't think they have proven that pot smoke even causes cancer, but I could be wrong.

Technically, they haven't even proven carcinogens cause cancer. A lot of people who get it were exposed to them, but a lot of people who don't have cancer also were.

I'm sure smoking (anything) isn't good for your lungs. I'm sure the same amounts of weed probably do yeild a lot more tar than cigarettes. But I think whoever said the reason weed is probably less harmful is because cig cmokers smoke way more than pot smokers was probably right.

I believe that a joint is equal to 1.5 cigs but the cancer patients are usually people smoking 1 pack or more a day. I believe that is 20 cigs (not sure cuz I don't smoke cigarettes), no one is going to smoke 30 joints in a day, everyday.

0 people have died from Marijuana use, there's proof that marijuana is less likely to kill than tobacco.

Cigs are really adicttive and that makes u smoke one after another after another after another...... and so on but even if weed is worse on ur lungs than tobacco, in the long run tobacco will kill u and weed will barely slow ya down, because most people dont smoke joints one after another after another etc. like tobacco chain smokers do.

I´m pretty sure that anything smokeable is bad for the lungs, but i read that weed has more tar than cigs but i also read that anything left over from a cig is tar, that yellow crap on the filters and the ashes. so i dont know much about this. But a person who smokes cigs smokes about 14+ a day and a hardcore toker maybe 5 joints that arent as big as cigs

actually oxygen isn't good for your lungs either....the air we breathe is 76% nitrogen and only 5% oxygen....the other % is other gases...if u did breath in more oxygen it will suffocate u slowly....and marijuana doesn't have as much tar as tobacco has *(there has been proven studies of this fact by the FDA)* and marijuana doesn't have fertilizers, fiber glass particles, rat poison and other **** u won't dare touch in it like tobacco has...
