Uuuuuhh...because then it's basically legal for everyone? There are sick people who actually need MM and a lot of them have a hard time getting it as it is. I'd love to get a card on the grounds that "it helps me laugh at things" but it ain't going to happen. This is a little selfish, wouldn't you say?

Because sometimes you have to suck it up so you don't screw things up for others.

If you don't like it, then get into politics and try to change it so your "spirituality" is protected for use of Marijuana. But don't think just because you can manipulate the system you have any right to.

People that abuse the medical marijuana system just to be able to smoke marijuana are no better than people who eat at homeless shelters, despite not actually being in a financial-hardship, or people who find ways to manipulate federal fundings to gain access to scholarships they don't deserve.

Programs are set up and FOUGHT for to protect certain people. If you are not one of those certain people, then don't mess up what they have fought so hard to get.

It's lazy and its offensive. If you don't like it, stop being selfish, start being mature, and work to fix the system.


On a side note, I bet you don't see anything wrong with registering for a handicap placard just to get better parking spots.

Opponents of medical marijuana say that it's just a scam for potheads to get high with impunity and want to eliminate it on that basis. You, by faking an illness, are affirming that POV and helping out the forces that want to take needed medicine away from people who might well die without it.

Spirituality doesn't exempt you from the law, nor does it give you the right to defraud and exploit an already fragile and heavily scrutinized system. Unless you have a legitimate medical condition, you'll just have to procure your weed illegally like the rest of us.

I do happen to use marijuana for medicine, and this upsets me. As Buzzby and Troublemaker have already pointed out, it does nothing to help legalization.

I have ADHD and it is the only thing that helps, and I have to get it illegally and use all my every cent of my money on it and still don't have a full months supply, and I risk all my hopes for a scholarship to get it, because I can't focus on boring tasks, and I will not get a scholarship anyway without it. If I could have a medical card I would jump to the roof since then my grandparents will pay for it, I would not have to risk all the opportunities I have/can get, ect, and you come here moping that you can't get a medical card for your spirituality (Which with your attitude is VERY unlikely). This just makes me sick, with the way you are acting you SHOULD get a medical card for torrets syndrome, since you are acting like a huge ass.

It's simply wrong because there are people out there who seriously need this as it truly helps them. They already have a tough enough time dealing with the illness and also with getting the stuff. People who just want to abuse the system to get high just make it harder for people who actually need it. You are harming these people and their cause when you fake an illness and abuse the system just so you can get high. Do you not have any compassion for the sick and dying? If you want to smoke pot legally do something about it. Get involved with organizations, make donations, attend rallies, etc. Get it? But don't screw things up for people who actually need it. Thats a selfish and inconsiderate thing to do. These people had to fight and work very hard for this. Think it over.
