I've had this little problem since I was little... doctors call it "Depersonalization Disorder". Though, I was never diagnosed, I experience this phenomenom every so often. I'll be in any given situation and everything turns strange and it feels as if I'm on the outside looking in. It's kind of scary and does not last long... less than 10 secs. each time. I have trouble speaking when this happens and sometimes people will notice and start asking questions like, "What's wrong dude??" etc. I was wondering if anyone has this same problem?? If so, do you ever run into trouble b/c of smoking?? Just wondering...

same thing used to happen to me when i was a little kid, i never really knew there was a diagnosis for it though. it hasnt happened to me in a few years, and smoking hasnt made any noticable difference

Hmm i would like to hear an in-depth explination of something like that happening, the experience of your disorder(i hate that word). Like how you feel, what kind of atmosphere is it in(any inparticular, new envoroment, talking to someone new, being nervous). And what would happen how would you talk? stutter? Not have controll?

I usually just become speechless... when I was younger I used to ask other kids (this was in 1st-3rd grade) and no one ever knew what I was talking about.

hmm...

I cant believe this. Everything you've described applies to my brother. I am pretty sure he has the same depersonalization disorder. The only thing with him is that it didnt start until about 2 years ago, he is now 15. Im going to show him this post tomorrow and ask him if he has the same symptoms.

Never had this until I got high. Had a really bad high+panic attack a couple months ago. Now ever since, if I get a panic attack or get high, I sometimes get like distant from reality, things look farther away, look strange, trippy. Just feel like things a unreal even though I know they arnt. Wish I never had a panic atack while high. I had one today and still feel like this now. It lasted 3 days from my last time before today.

I'm not sure it isn't a gift, rather than a problem.
Do you find yourself improving the situation after these flashes?
I do feel this way pretty often on Pot, but it's enjoyable to me. Sort of like a little mental vacation. It doesn't manifest itself as a panic attack, but more like an astral projection.
Having those, sort of confirms my self image as a "psychonaut", exploring parts of the mind that have some mystery left in it.
