| Just when I thought today was going perfectly!!! That's what I get... I was going along, doing the dishes, minding my own business when BAM! the fuggin glass breaks in my hand. Well, actually my HAND is IN the glass when it breaks. Now I have a rather LARGE cut in the top of my right hand (yes, I'm righthanded...) and it just barely grazed the vein in the top of my hand. Enough to bruise it already. It's still bleeding on and off and my dad just stopped by to check on me (Go Dad! ) He also took my daughter to ballet, and took my son with him to go pick up a pizza for dinner so I don't have to cook. Not that I could anyway....As it is, I'm typing this with one hand! I'm still feeling kinda nauseous and dizzy. I almost passed out once everything settled down and I actually could think about what happened. I need to burn a nice bowl but don't think I should do so till my dad has at least come and gone, eh? Thanks for listening..

| Same thing happened to a friend of mine's Mom. Scary stuff. I thought she was trying to kill herself.

| I have had numerous glasses burst while i was holding them, not even washing them, just holding it. Its a common occurance for me nowadays, but luckily I have never been hurt. My friend however was babysitting a drunk one night, and as she was trying to remove a glass from teh coffee table in front of her, the guy fell over and landed on top of the table while her hand was grasped around the glass. SHe screwed her hand up royally and had to go thru surgery. Damn glasses.

| Oh MAN I hate cuts so much... they freak me out. I cut myself on a swiss army knife about a year ago while I was closing it and bled all over... but I stopped it with a towel... I was too freaked out to touch it (the flaps of skin coming off) for a few weeks... cuts are the worst sorry you had to get a one bigger than any one I've ever had. They are a *****. I can never find anything to do about the pain, and they look really bad My "condolenses" to you Vyx, and hope you heal up soon.

| Thank you!!!! My dad bought some of that liquid bandaid stuff so it's covered and protected, but you can still see it...weird stuff! I hate cuts too. It's amazing just HOW close it came to actually doing some serious damage to one of my main veins in my hand. Someone out there was looking out for me! NOW I can smoke! Everyone's home safe and sound....except hubby. He should be on his way though! Thanks again, everyone! |

| Something like that happened to one of my co-workers.. except there was sulfuric acid in the glass that broke... and the glassware that broke was a 4L volumetric, which costs several hundred dollars. She was carrying the flask to the bench for it to stir, and it breaks in her hands. The sulfuric acid burned her, but it wasn't too bad-- it just got the top of her hand. She's got a nice scar now. It ruined her clothes, too, but it could have been a lot worse, especially considering the amount of acid that was spilled. The sulfuric acid was a ***** to clean up. We went through probably 10 boxes of baking soda neutralizing it in two rooms. |
