Firstly hi, I’m new. I’ll just right to the point of this thread; last night I had quite a freak out-ish moment while smoking.

I’m not a highly regular smoker, but I do smoke occasionally. I usually smoke with friends a couple of times every month, give or take depending on how much people have or where I am. From time to time I get some for myself, and obviously on those occasions I smoke more than normal.

When I’m rolling I like to roll green, although most of my friends mix with tobacco, so the intake varies. I always smoke joints though as I thoroughly dislike bongs, as do most of my friends.

Anyway, I had recently got myself a quarter. At a recent party I was drinking and smoking, no fuss. It felt pretty weak, actually, compared to weed I’ve had in the past.

However, last night I decided to have a joint before bed. I only got halfway through it before I had to put it out. It hit me like a ton of bricks. I was completely out of it and freaking out a little. To relate, it felt very similar (only on a much smaller degree) to a very bad acid trip I had 8 or so months ago. I felt like I was tripping, minus the vicious hallucinations, rather than just “getting stoned”.

This all happened at about 3am. Nearly 12 hours later and I still feel a bit odd, much like coming down off a harder drug, acid in particular. Dizzy, sluggish, and still some minor “weedish” effects. Hell, coming down off my bad trip didn’t feel as odd as this.

I’m asking for advice on the situation as this has NEVER happened to me before in my years of experience smoking weed, and I’m a bit confused and concerned, especially since my brain still feels fried 12 hours later.

Self diagnosis would say a minor panic attack and paranoia from smoking too much too fast, or something like that, but as I said I’ve smoked countless times before for a long time, and this is the first anything like this has ever happened to me.

Any advice would be appreciated. Oh, and I read the stickied panic / anxiety attack thread, which I think helps, but I like to hear similar experiences / comments from people directly.

There was a similar thread to this earlier and I'll try to echo what was said there. It was probably a one time thing, and has happened to many people before. It can be caused by many things; mind set, mood, tiredness, health, and I imagine many other things I can't think of. The only thing I can relate to though is I smoked two pre rolled j's with my girlfriend that she brought. I smoked them then lied in my floor and saw dancing green trees. Don't know why, I didn't feel any bodily or mentally higher than any other time, and it never happened again. Weed can be weird.

Ta buddy. I'm fine now. I think what made the situation concerning was how long it lasted. The actual "tripping" feeling lasted from about 3am to 7am, and the hangovery dizzy feeling lasted until ~5pm. Never really had any of these effects, let alone for such a long time, from weed.

Oh well live and learn.

yea one of my friends was recently scared straight by a similar situation where he only took one rip and started freaking out saying he was gonna die and his heart was gonna stop or explode, he was the only one with that reaction of everyone their and hes no beginner one of the heavier smokers in the group but every so often something like this can happen just remember it was a one time thing
