| I am looking for anyone with knowledgable information to please post. About 2-3 hours ago I urinated and there was blood and a blood clot in my urine(very small) (the urine was mostly yellow with a reddish tint). This condition is called gross hematuria and requires doctors to take standard urinalysis along with other tests. My question is, when they take the urinalysis, will they detect marijuana?. Also, if they detect marijuana, will they inform the authorities? Will they inform my parents? (i am 17). My last time smoking was 4 hours ago. Please, anyone with any info post, even if it has been said. I need the assurance. |

| No they will probably not test for drugs. They will need either your consent or your parents. Also they cannot disclose that information to anyone, it would be covered under doctor patient confidentiality. The doctor is there for your health not to bust you for smoking pot. Many people here are even honest to thier doctors about smoking. But no they should not test for cannabis in your urine and if they did they could not do anything with the information. Sleep easy and I hope you get better soon. ![]() |

| I don't see why they would, either. Think about it. Why waste extra money testing for drugs when it won't even do you any good....? |

| Just get checked out. They are not testing for drug use at this time. As you are under 18 they can discuss the findings of all tests with your parents however most doctors will honor their patient's privacy as they know this is the only way to establish their patient's trust to allow them to be treated properly. Most docotrs take this seriously. Either way, you must see a docotr without fail asap. | |

| By the way... just fyi...blood in the urine usually means a urinary tract infection and/or bladder infection although rarely it can signal a serious (and possibly fatal if not treated rapidly) kidney failure... But it's usually an infection that can be treated by the doctor... So boyz and girlz...see blood in your urine, see your doctor or ladies, your gynecologists asap. | |
