If marijuana increases blood flow to your vessels, ( i may have this wrong), then WHy oh why do i STAY COLD when I smoke? It takes a helluva lot longer for me to warm back up again, especially when I am high. I also feel very numb when I'm in the cold for a long time, but this is only sometimes. Does anyone have an answer to any of these q's? thanks.

THC has vasodilation effects (makes your blood vessels bigger, an example is red eyes), so I doubt that it's increasing blood flow. The brain is a different story though.

It can also decrease your body temp. but I imagine that tolerance develops to that.

Makes sense. If you figure that alcohol gives you that tingly warm feeling and it constricts vessels (or so I hear) figures the releasing the vessels should cool off a bit and the tolerance idea works to that idea.

I'm pretty sure bigger vessels won't heat you up. But it oculd do just the opposite, I really don't know.

May I suggest a sweater?

Only thing I can add to this that might help is bigger surface area (i.e. dilated vessels) equals to faster cooling.

I wouldn't think it'd make much of a difference though.

Is there a chance it's just a placebo effect?

Maybe you tend to move around less when stoned, thus slowing down your body, thus cooling you.

No, it's not placebo for sure. Everyone I smoke with notices this. My feet will be numb for up to 30 mins after I come in after the cold, depending on how cold it is

That happens to me even when im not stoned though. If I go out in the winter when it's snowing and freezing cold my face, hands and feet get numb.

Just wear a sweatshirt with a hood. Put your hands in your pockets and rub them together to warm them up. Also wiggle your toes in your shoes, it will help circulate the blood and keep them a little warmer.

I get really cold when I'm high sometimes, seemingly colder than before I smoked. However, one might attribute this to the fact that marijuana alters your perception. Usually, I just think about how I was before I was stoned and I realize that I'm not all that cold, but that doesn't always work.
