Salvia Divonorum is off-topic as it is not legally available in the US -- I have to set a benchmark somewhere and I apologize but this is where it is.

Salvia is an herb, but the information on its standardized use, availability in standardized dosages of quality and purity, is unavailable.

You may continue the conversation referring to herbs that are available at the larger health stores such as GNC (General Nutrition Center), Vitamin Shoppe, and such.

You really have covered the two that would be most helpful for relaxation Kava Kava and chamomile.

Note though that Kava causes stomache upsets in some people, and chamomile tea should be avoided by people with ragweed allergies.

So you see, even herbal remedies aahave their drawbacks.

...have a cookie,

Unhappy Sorry...but....

Salvia Divinorum is legal in most places except for Australia, and a few cities in the US.

Standardized Marijuana also doesn't exist.

For more info on Salvia try looking around Erowid or SageWisdom

But it is a powerful psychedelic, so I'm not arguing for it to be allowed to talk about it, just making sure noone gets the wrong idea.

Catnip may also work synergistically with marijuana. I've noticed some companies have included it in tea used for relaxation. It does have documented psychoactive effect, but weak nonetheless. See erowid.org for more information on that. I recently bought a tea, which works well coupled with mary jane, that includes chamomile, passion flower, and catnip. I'm sure all three of these will somehow work synergistically with marijuana and work great in aiding in the treatment of insomnia.

Not sure what you are taking the marijuana for ...

But for inflammation, ginger works well in addition to it. It's also helpful for people who get inflammation in their lungs and get stomach upset at the same time. You can make it as a tea in a press pot. I don't even bother to peel it.

It taste bad/good much in the same way Kava taste bad/good. Sort of a hot pepperish flavor with a hint of dial soap. heh You'll want some sweet-n-low to mix with it.

(This may not be the best thing to take with other anti inflammatories, they too have a synergistic effect on the lining of ones stomach and throat, and it isn't a pleasant effect.)

Yerba mate gives me a really clear-headed feeling as well as a kick from the caffiene (mateine?), but in a differet way then coffee. I think it'd combine with bud perfectly.

Interesting how the Chinese combined Ginseng with weed, I'll have to try that.

little side note on kava: it may be pretty heavy on the liver. avoid it if you have liver problems, are taking other meds that are heavy on the liver, or with alcohol.
Quote:
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is advising consumers of the potential risk of severe liver injury associated with the use of kava-containing dietary supplements. Kava (Piper methysticum) is a plant indigenous to the islands in the South Pacific where it is commonly used to prepare a traditional beverage. Supplements containing the herbal ingredient kava are promoted for relaxation (e.g., to relieve stress, anxiety, and tension), sleeplessness, menopausal symptoms and other uses. FDA has not made a determination about the ability of kava dietary supplements to provide such benefits.

Liver-related risks associated with the use of kava have prompted regulatory agencies in other countries, including those in Germany, Switzerland, France, Canada, and the United Kingdom, to take action ranging from warning consumers about the potential risks of kava use to removing kava-containing products from the marketplace. Although liver damage appears to be rare, FDA believes consumers should be informed of this potential risk.

I don't know why this thread wasn't closed, but according to the policy, we don't talk about other drugs, legal or not.
