Default Would pot help my grandma?

Okay, this isn't some smartass comment. Let me give you a bit of background.

My grandma, is 91. Within the last few months, she's been having trouble sleeping. To the point where she's stayed awake for 4 days, having hallucinations, et cetera. Thinking she had a baby, and that me and my mom had taken it, and done something with it. And, she thinks she see's people. Doesn't know where she's at.

My question is simply, would somehow getting pot into her help her get to sleep?

We've come to the conclusion, that she is afraid that if she goes to sleep, she won't wake up. I want to help her relax, Because, sooner or later, she's going to stay up so long that she either just drops dead, or she'll go to sleep, and just not wake up.

She's 91, we don't expect her to live much longer, because her health has gotten much worth in the past few years, but I don't want her to suffer with the time she has left. She needs rest, which requires sleep, not staying up for a week, hallucinating.

I don't want her to get high (whether I feed it to her, have her smoke with me, or whatever it may be), and something happens to her because of it.

I don't know, I'm high, and trying to help my grandma.

If it wouldn't hurt her, (by the way, I'm not talking about making a brownies with an ouncer per brownie, I smoke dro, so, I'd probably use dro, but in small amounts, very small amounts), what would be the best way for her to consume it? I don't think I could get her to smoke it, unless I tricked her by some way (She has inhalers, so, it wouldn't be too difficult, by saying it was a new type of inhaler when I had my metal chillum already cherry).

But, Would cooking it into something be better than her smoking it?

Thanks in advance for all help and advice

I can see why your trying to help your grandma. But getting weed into her system without her knowledge has great potential of blowing up in your face and screwing everything up. Try talking to her about it maybe? I dunno, 2 cents

My grandma wouldn't know what it was. She's 91, not exactly all there anymore. She just basically lays in bed, eats, plays cards. So, I've discussed it with my mom, but she wasn't crazy about ti because she didn't know if it would hurt her.

the nurse that comes in every day suggested Onion Tea. I'm sure my grandma would much rather bud than onion tea,

By no means...should you trick her.

Try discussing "a new medication" with her, giving her the negative, and positive sides of it, and tell her the absolute truth about it

If she is from the Reefer Madness times, just don't use the actual name.

Example:

+( Helps you sleep, mood enhancement, more energy,

-( Disorietation with too much, Possible Phlegm from smoking, laziness (Triggers Drug test (maybe?)

This isn't lying, its just bypassing brainwashing. If she says no, she says no though, but I wish you the best.

Definitely don't slip her anything without her knowledge. If you've discussed it with your mother then it would be easy for one or both of you to bring it up with a doctor.

I'm just curious, has she been diagnosed with anything that may explain her disoriented behaviour? (alzheimers?) My grandmother actually passed away less than a month ago, and for the last few weeks of her life she honestly was completely ready to go and wanted to die. Has your grandmother mentioned anything like that?

Sounds like alzheimers to me (I worked in a retirement home for 5+ years), and in all honesty, I dont believe that marijuana would help alzheimers. It ouwld help with sleep, appetite and pain, but the other aspects of the drug could potentially be a dangerous combination with alzheimers.
I dont really KNOW, but this is what I think.

Do not treat your grandmother with MJ. If you grandmother is suffering from delusions and hallucinations at this point, it would be cruel to add a medication that would increase her confusion.

Allow her hospice care worker to do her job. Speak with the hospice nurse and discuss what you are feeling. Nurses who work with the dying are some of the most compassionate people in the world and s/he will be able to help you and your family as well as your beloved grandmother

It is very difficult to allow nature to take it's course when it is time for the body to let go of the spirit.

The experiences you are going through watching it occur are referred to as "pre-emptive deaths" and it is a part of the grieving process to experience them...allow yourself to grieve...it is a healthy process.

We are here to talk if you need to...

Hugz,

Mama Budz

I hope you guys don't think I'm just trying to drug my grandmother, I was just curious if it might help, I didn't just do it, because I didn't know the effects. So, taking your guy's advice, I won't.

Thanks everybody - Thank ya Mamabudz
