this was my first time throwing up on marijuana. i think it was a combonation of a few things that caused it.

1. it was a nasty roach
2. i was using a zippo (the flame tastes nasty
3. a few days ago i cleaned my pipe (in alcohol) but havent smoked out of it since. it didnt like go up in flames, but it may have had a faint taste of rubbing alcohol to it.

now im scared to use my pipe again. if i will puke again after two tokes i may as well give my pipe away.

any thoughts?


p.s. oh yeah, i was smoking the roach in my pipe. just wanted to make sure you got that.

How long have you been smoking? Has this ever happened before?

I highly doubt it had anything to do with the alcohol, as you said you used it a few day prior, and that's well enough time for the alcohol to evaporate.

Sometimes you can be sick just by thinking that you will be sick, did you have any concerns using the pipe beforehand?

I'd say it's pretty safe to use the pipe again. If you do decide you'll try it again, don't let sickness ride on your mind.

I'm the only one of my friends that does this, but sometimes I will just throw up because there is smoke near me (any kind of smoke). Sometimes it (usually it will be the smell, even though I love the smell of pot) just hits me the wrong way and I'll throw up, it's not THAT common, but it happens like every month or two.

ive been smoking for about 7 months and this has never happened before, or even come close to happening. it could have been some sort of phscosematic (sp?) up-chuck. all i know is that my pipe used to be smooth and now (without the resin) it give strong hits. my freind agreed with me on that one (but he didnt puke).

Maybe it was something you ate. You could have been feeling a little queasy and gagged at the taste of the harsh smoke.

i wouldn't worry to much, if you want to smoke, just do it slowly and don't over do it

well thats because your getting a WHOLE lot more air flow than when it was clogged with resin. therefor a WHOLE lot more smoke

yeah that happend to me before too. its the combo of nasty weed and the alchohol taste. now the alcholo should be gone outta ur pipe

make sure to rinse out the pipe good when you use alchohol! it will be fine!

Did you use low-odor mineral spirits? or turpentine? Those might
stick around for a day...

I think you should be ok. Rinse the pipe out really well, and try it again.

A lot of people suggest rubbing alcohol for cleaning pipes, but a much better solution (IMO) is to go to your local head shop and buy some pipe cleanser. The stuff I buy is $5 canadian and it's reusable, I've kept it in a jar for a year now . It was worth the investment. Never had any problems with it.

By the way, rubbing alcohol is poisonous to drink, so I expect it's poisonous to inhale it's fumes. Be careful.
