| Over the past couple years i've had some problems when I smoke pot. To start, my freshman and sophmore years in High School I was a consistent user, about 10 times a week. The reason I quit is because the last couple times I smoked before I stopped, was I would feel my heartbeat and my body would get cold. The weed would slow down my heart rate, which I heard was normal, but I freaked out. I've smoked about 5 times since then, and all have had that same effect. But, the reason I'm confused is because on 1-24-04, Saturday night, I got ****ing blazed off some chronic and took about 3 solid hits, no coughing, and I couldn't feel my heart beat, but my body still did get sort of cold, but I wasn't bothered because I was so blazed. It was my first time smoking since September, 2003. I haven't smoked much chronic in the past, mostly schwagg(cheap ****, I know there is diff names for it), maybe that had something to do with it? Right now, my hands are pretty cold and I havent smoked since last night. I know it will go away in about a week, and all will be back to normal. Does my body just have troubles handling marijuana or what? I'm confused ![]() I'm also on the basketball team, i'm a senior now, and almost everyone on the team smokes regularly, and two of them do it over 5 times a day and still manage to start on the varsity team.. and we're ranked 8th in state. You guys got any similar expieriences, or advice? I'd appreicate it. Thanks. |

| I too have noticed that I get cold when I smoke. I actually brought some thick, flannel clothing at target to wear when I get cold, flannel seems to warm me the fastest and feels WONDERFUL on my skin as well. Sweat pants and shirts also keep me very comfortable. I also park myself in front of my radiant heater, kick back and enjoy! If you are baked around a campfire, that is the best! As for the low heart rate issue, I think if you are in very poor physical condition, like over-weight or have circulation problems, then yoiu might have cause to worry. Ultimately, you might want to ask a doctor. There are also many books out there that address smoking and the metabolic changes the body goes through. |

| I am not out of shape at all, I am conditioned well cuz I play basketball for the school. I'm about 6'5, 185 lbs, and i'm very athletic(i.e.. 360 dunks). Im white. I just don't know why that happens to me. As for circulation problems.. I don't have any of that. I'm 17 years old and am rarley sick. I've never been hospitalized for anything, im not allergic to anything.. all that. Maybe i worded it wrong, it's not a Low heart rate, it just slows down slightly. I can also feel my heart beat if I put my hand up to my chest, and even see it in the mirror up close. That freaked me out and cause me to quit. But overtime, that stops and everything goes back to "normal".. |

| ...to INCREASE one's heart rate! It also heightens one's awareness. So I'd be willing to guess that when you get high, you might focus on that aspect of your physical being, MORE SO than when not smoking weed. It CAN be a bit overwhelming sometimes, if you haven't been smoking that long. My guess is it'll go away in time. But I would suggest seeing a doctor if those feelings of coldness in your extremities continues when you're straight. THAT could be anything at all, if it's not just the weed making you ponder it. Better to be safe than sorry! pOOn ![]() |

| Just keep a warm bowl in your hands.

| I know that this gets thrown around a lot, but have you ever thought that they may be anxiety or panic attacks? I'm healthy as well and can't find any logical reason as to why I get so screwed up one night. I noticed my heart beat racing then the high started to hit me. I was thinking about all the electrical tape my dumb ex-friend wrapped near our bowl and though, oh crap all those toxins are taking their toll! I hadn't smoked in a year, and maybe it was just too much for me. All of it made me sketch out so bad. I mustered up the strength to crawl in my bunk bed and let myself crash out, hoping that I wouldn't die in my sleep. It was a pretty scary experience. I educated myself a little more about marijuana and found my next high to be the exact opposite. I've learned that marijuana can be a very powerful psychoactive. Not many people know that, but when you let your guard down... just be sure to not sketch out the next time you smoke up and you'll be good to go. Get a couple of close friends, put on some music that you like and make sure you're in a comfortable atmosphere. You'll have a much better time if you relax. Everything is in your mind. ![]()

| I also get the cold feeling when I smoke. I think smoking makes me more suseptible to cold, depending on the environment. During the summer, it doesn't happen. Also, I noticed with different strains of weed, the feeling comes and goes. However, my heart rate always increases a little, never slows down. |

| I also agree, i think when i smoke and its cold outside it tends to make me a little colder. I also think i lose a little circulation in my hands when its cold outside and im high, its not a big problem for me at all but i have noticed it. |

| yea, thats the same with me. It's not that big of a problem, I just think thats what the effect of Marijuana has on the heart, that it slows it down while intoxicated. |
