|  Too much saliva? Ok so i've been smoking pretty heavily for the past 6 months, and decided to take a break, but noticed one annoying thing that has happened since i've stopped. I am making too much saliva... and i'm talking constantly, you know the feeling right before you vomit when you make too much saliva? I have it all the time, 24/7, and its driving me crazy. Is there some way that during this 6 months of pot use my glands got used to having to make more saliva(because of the dry mouth caused by the pot) and now that i've stopped so suddenly my body doesn't know that it doesn't need to make so much since i'm not smoking, not getting dry mouth?

| Well, this doesen't really help you, but that chemical in your mouth before you puke isnt just saliva, so if it is that same chemical, you have more problems than what you think. |

| well actually it makes me feel a lil better since i'm not on edge all the time thinking i'm about to puke... but still swallowing every 2 seconds, is really quite annoying... the only way i've been able to get sleep since i ran outta weed was to take some off topics to dry my throat out  |

| I just took a break after 2 years and the same thing happened to me; went away though

| I've heard of this occurring and that it goes away in a matter of weeks but I don't know enough on the subject of over salivation (hypersalivation). I'll see what I can research for you. But if continues for more than 2 weeks, I would suggest seeing a physician. There is an illness known as Sjogrens syndrom which is when the mouth doesn't produce saliva, and I understand that patients are directed to increase drinking water and told to chew gum to stimulate their glands. Perhaps there is a reverse of the syndrome and a treatment as simple. Hugz, Mama Budz | |
