| Ok short story, I got my hands on some really dank headies (best herb i've ever smoked) and went a little overboard and took about 5 bongloads within an hour. Everything was gravy, I was blazed out of my mind, until it happened.. I started to become nauseus and light headed. My vision started to fade, and it was like I was seeing a slideshow infront of my face. Next thing I know I black out, wake up about 2 seconds later and still feel another black out coming on. The next hour or so is absolutely hell. I started to uncontrollably shake (real bad cold sweats) and my lips started to turn blue, i was pretty much in and out of consciousness for a half hour. After I started feeling a little better I had a friend drive me to my house and I preceded to sleep for an hour or so. When I woke up I had the worst headpain ever. I could almost sense another blackout coming on at any point in time. Fast forward to now, which is 5 days after the incidient, I still have uncomfortable headpains and everytime I toke up, I begin to freak out and almost faint. I know this is psychosematic (meaning everytime I think about it, I can actually convince myself to faint) because whenever Im around friends, drunk, having a good time etc I feel wonderful, like theres nothing wrong with me. But when I'm alone or with a few people and we smoke, then hell sets back in and I'm terrified that I'll faint. My friends told me to just not think about it and tell myself that its nothing and that I will have to live with it, but this is really hard to do, espicially because its sorta sub-conscious. I have gone through an experience like this mid-year last year when I had a severe anxiety attack after getting high and had really bad anxiety for 3 weeks until it eventually faded away and I overcame it. That's what I'm trying to do now but theres a few problems. 1) Having to actually walk around and be terrified of fainting is not only bad, its pretty unsafe, considering if i were to faint while walking down a hall way, I could fall on my head and get a concussion. Also DRIVING is the main factor here, I cant smoke while drving for fear of fainting and going off the road and getting killed. 2) Does anyone have any kind of advice for me for getting over this hurdle? Marijuana is a beautful substance and I have enjoyed it for 2 years now, and I dont want something stupid and un-necessary to make me quit, quitting is out of the question, maybe for a short while, but then comes the problem of losing tolerance and when I do start smoking back up again, it could hit me like a brick and I could black out again. Thanks guys and look forward to hearing your replies. Kevin |

| Try to smoke only a small amount 1-2 bonghits in a safe and positive environment, like your room. Either sitting down or in bed. See how you react and judge from there. As for being psychosOmatic, you understand what being psychosomatic means therefore you must understand and comprehend that you are inducing these reactions. You need to mentally combat this, tell yourself you do not have any physical weakness. You need to mentally reinforce your understanding of this. Be familiar with your mind and body and the causes of common sickness. |

| The EXACT same thing happens to a friend of mine. We have noticed certain situations where it happens...generally. Here are some donts 1) Dont smoke when feeling dizzy in any way. 2)Dont smoke when hungover 3)Dont smoke when on other drugs. 4)If possible, sit when smoking. 5)Dont smoke HUGE amounts The best thing that you can do to help when this happens is sit/lie down, get a cool washcloth for your forhead, relax. Hope that helps

| You have some good advice...but I have to give you a bit more: You need to see a doctor. While you may have been simply cannabis intoxicated, some of what you described is disturbing and not normal and can indicate a more serious underlying condition. One possibility is that you are hpoglycemic, have low blood sugar. And people do faint from low blood sugar, they also get the shales and headaches. You need to have your blood sugar level tested. If you have either a family history of diabetes or are either African American or Jewish you have a genetic predisposition for diabetes. THis is a serious condition that if found early can be treated efectively and not effect you life seriously. If ignored it can lead to many nasty things such as kidney failure, blindness and loss of limbs. A second possibility is a condition that causes fainting, either because of a failure of the heart to receive a signal to beat or due to a signal sent to the brain causing you to faint. Both of these signs are indicators of underlying serious problems that may require xrays, MRA or MRI, EEG and EKG to rule out (among other possible procedures). I don't say this to scare you, but I do give you this advice: Get a physical and have the doctor check for diabetes, and also tell him/her about your fainting spells. And tell them everything! Then follow through on their suggestions for any other testing that may be required. ...And let me know what's happening to you...Mama worries ![]() ...and have a cookie... ![]() Mama Budz | |

| Well I took a visit to the doctor. Told him everything, and his advice was to just lay off the MJ or just lower my intake and to eat lots of salty foods and keep myself hydrated. He thinks i'll be ok and that I just scared myself too much from fainting. I went in there last year for pyscosematic anxiety which eventually faded away after about 3 weeks or so. He asked me about family diabetes etc and I said no, because my family is perfectly normal as far as diseases/diabetes go. I didnt see your post Mama before I went in for a visit, I'm sure its all fine though, today for instance I felt pretty good and I know its pretty much pyscosematic still because as Im typing this I'm concentrating on the subject and I can begin to feel some uncomfortable feeling in my head. What do you think mamabudz? Thanks, Kevin |

| You must be smoking way too much, because I've never had a bad experience from pot. Pot reduces anxiety and headaches, so I'm not sure why you had them. Whenever I drink Alcohol, I use pot to keep away the nasty stomach feeling, and also I don't get hangovers. I can understand getting sick from alcohol, but if you are getting sick from pot, you are smoking unhealthy amounts. Keep it down to around 2-4 bowls a day.

| A little update on my situation, I still feel like i'm the walking dead. I havent smoked for a week and for the past 2 nights I have laid down in my bed, and pretty much got to the point where I was about to faint. I'm talking, headrushes every 5 minutes, heart rate increasing/decreasing rapidly, body becoming light due to loss of blood circulation (or so it feels like, but i think that is associated with fainting anyway). This worrys me, not only because i'm fainting, but because the next day I feel fainty and hazed the whole day, it's absolute hell and I cant keep living like this. I know its psychoscematic because if I'm partying (drunk) I dont feel these feelings at all, i feel normal and infact I've become an alcoholic ever since this ordeal just for the sheer pleasure of not feeling like ****. Or if I'm engaged in a subject/conversation that interests me, I feel fine, but once again, once alone or have time to really daydream/think to myself, these thoughts emerge and I begin to feel like ****. I can't smoke either, if I smoke MJ, its safe to say that I'll feel fainty. Even off of like 2 hits, its really nuts. I know this is caused by MJ because as you can see from my first post, it happened due to Marijuana overload (stoned out). I have had problems with pyschosematic **** in the past, I had it last year for about a month with anxiety from when I smokd too much, and now it seems I'm having it with "fainting" or whatever you call it. I have also noticed that I never really "faint" I usually just get to the peak and move around a lot and stop myself from making it happen. I wonder if actually allowing myself to faint will stop the problem alltogether. I'm just really confused and life is hell right now, I can't live like this, not forever anyway, and I hope its not forever, I'm sure I'll get over it somehow, but I hope soon, because this has been my daily routine for 3 weeks now and I can tell you first hand, its not fun, and its definately not COMMON. Any advice/feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kevin |

| Kevin: This is definitely not common. At this point it would make sense to go to the doctor again for a more full check up. My first suspicion, is you have a case of mononucleosis...so go get a blood test and have them check for that among all the other things. This often will not show up during a first visit, in fact it is that the illness hangs on for a few weeks that usually clinches the diagnosis...Its recoverable...but you need to take care of yourself! You only get one body this go round...take care of it. That's being a responsible person. Keep us uptodate Hugz, Mama Budz | |
