Success Story

I want to share this with everyone in our community here for two reasons: First, because I am so amazed at my results that I feel like shouting it, and second, because some of you may know someone with the same condition that you could share this story with.

One of the two main reasons I recently decided to start using MJ again is that I have a condition called Peripheral Neuropathy. This is very common amongst people with Diabetes, but can because by a number of other things. In my case, the swelling in my back from my injury, combined with less physical activity, led to the decreased circulation that caused the neuropathy. (Or so the docs tell me) The sensation started as a tingling in the very tip of my big toes. Annoying, but not a big deal. Over time it got much worse. At it's worst, I was numb from the tips of ALL of my toes, past the ball of my feet. Numbness, tingling, burning, and little stabbing pains. Most of this was made tolerable because of the amount of pain killers I was on for so long, but the numbness was always there. The first time I quit the pain killers the neuropathy was so bad I could hardly sleep. It really is a miserable condition, with no real cure. (There are some treatments, but success is sporadic)

I started using MJ again less than a month ago. Three weeks ago I could stick a thumb tack into my toes, or even parts of the top of my feet, far enough to stand on their own and draw blood without feeling it. Today, as I am writing this, I have almost ALL the feeling back in both of my feet. I have had no burning or pain for a few days, and now the numbness is almost completely gone. Plus, my feet were ALWAYS cold. I kept a heating pad at the foot of my bed to try to warm them up when I first got in. I have been able to leave it off for the last three nights.

Both of my doctors agree that it is BECAUSE OF MY USE OF MARIJUANA that I have experienced this relief. I didn't know what to expect when I started this. I thought I would get maybe a little relief in the various areas I needed it, but this is nothing short of miraculous! I wish I had done this YEARS ago! Even my regular back pain is better, but that is a story for another day down the road. (I will say that I am almost completely off my other meds, and that's coming from taking 240+ Mgs a day of Oxycontin, as well as Morphine, Dilaudid, and Fentynal Patches back to back as I tried to find some relief from my pain)

I am feeling better than I have in a VERY long time. I'm even taking walks again. I wish I were a better writer so I could tell this story more eloquently, because this is the first time I have been smiling while discussing my health in a long time, and I want everyone to be able to understand how amazing that is!
