I live in Michigan and our medical marijuana takes affect next week. I'm an extremely high strung individual and I suffer from severe insomnia. I've been prescribed 2mg Xanax (taken after work daily), Sertreline 50mg, and Seraquel 50mg(taken just before bed daily) I guess I don't qualify fore the medicinal but what are these 3 medications doing to my liver? Couldn't my doc prescribe weed instead of the xanax?

No, doctors can't "prescribe" cannabis. It will ultimately be up to Michigan's Department of Community Health (MDCH). Your doctor can confirm and document your illness but it will be up to the MDCH to approve it. The way the law reads now, approved illnesses are:
debilitating medical conditions, including cancer, glaucoma, HIV, AIDS, hepatitis C, MS and other conditions as may be approved by the Department of Community Health.

So, you will have to hope that your condition will be approved under the "other conditions".

call the THCF 1-248-351-1746 ask them about your condition. I don't think it's a covered condition but I could be wrong. If you are you just need the last three chart notes faxed to the THCF by your doctor

If you are covered they will contact you for an appointment .
Then you show up in southfield and those fine people will do the rest

PS- I have anxiety and insomnia also .. and take xanax ... if I smoke i dont really need it or less. I hope that if my state MJ law goes through I can qualify.
