| What makes me a good candidate is that I limit my smoking to twice a week or two sittings each week. So as a result, my tolerance stays fairly low. Interstingly, I had been using my bubbler EVERY time (with water) for the past four months. Last night, for the first time in four months, I smoked without using water filitration. THe effects were so intense it almost felt like using for the first time all over again. Also interestingly, last night I used the same exact stash I had been using for the past three months. Most notably, the body buzz was so much more intense. I felt more stoned and less clear headed than usual. But I also felt much more dreamy and a much stronger head high. SO to me it seemed, I had a much stronger dose of THC accompanied by other cannbinoids I had been missing out on. Why I think this is significant. Well, perhaps safer methods of smoking needs to be weighed against what kind of high or effects one is going after, and how much smoke will need to be ingested. Overall, I was very surprized how much of a difference smoking dry was after not doing it for so long. I had read an argument a long time ago on here about smoking with water and without. And I was hoping that smoking with water would not be different, because it seems safer. Well last night, I think I kind of disproved this, at least for me anyway.

| Could it be that you hadn't smoked in a while? Or if you had smoked recently, that's a cool find. We should all test this out and post results.

| I have a fairly high tolerance but I find that if I switch between smoking methods I seem to feel higher at first. For the past week or so I've only smoked joints, today I used my bong and got high as fuck. In another week I will probably use my pipe and experience the same results. I do however agree that water filtration probably filters out at least some of the THC/cannabinoids even just by cooling them down to below their vaporization temperature and therefore solidifying them in the water. I'm no science expert though so...

| Smoke is Not "ingested", it is brought to Your lungs through Your Respiratory system. it is true, that Vaporization, and, swallowing the "vape" is getting in to Your esophagus. The Throat,Stomach can absorb the smoke too. The main place is the lungs, where the capillary action places it directly in to Your blood stream. THC, is Not water soluble Since You are using the same stash, then it's a matter of reasonable matter of tolerance. The more it's in Your blood, the longer it stays, up to 30 Days. |

THC might not be water soluble, but as the OP mentioned, there are many different kinds of cannabinoids. Each of them contributes to the high. Some cannabinoids are probably more soluble in water than THC.

It may be conceivable that the OH on their may possibly form hydrogen bonds with water. Perhaps at a very small frequency, but not zero frequency. Perhaps somebody with extensive knowledge in organic chemistry can chime in. | |

| Your Observations agree with data I have been gathering for tha past ten years--and also concur with the anectdotal accounts of many cann. users on this website. Switching up occassionally on the methods of getting THC into your bloodstream --smoking, vaping, bubbling, bonging, eating--all have an effect on the sensation of the high you experience. There are even medical users who for the sake of getting a better high will compromise the purportedly "healthier" method of vaping in favor of firing up an ole' fashioned J. It's a matter of "Variety"--the eternal Spice of Life.

| I smoke by using my beautiful spoon. Every once in a while I will use my water pipe and find that the high is much more intense.... so I have have adjusted to smoking less with the water pipe.... I do not know why this is.... |
