1st of all I'd like to say I'm exploring every aspect of my question but I don't want to tell people like my family or doctor(at least right away) that I smoke pot.

I'm considering taking anti depression medication. I've always kind of been down on my life I haven't exactly had it easy but I made it work. Recently lost my fiance almost 4 months ago and got laid off so I've been sitting at home lonelly, broke and miserable. If you need any more personalish info than that just ask.

Anyways my question to you is this; Do you know of any complications or have any info at all about the combination of MJ and anti-D meds?

i tried many different anti-depressants and i smoked pot the entire time. it actually helped. some of them did their job, i wasn't depressed anymore, but at the same time i wasn't feeling ANY emotion. i felt like a zombie. pot helped me loosen up a bit, laugh and have a good time while trying to get my life back together. oh and i straight up told my therapist i smoked pot. she didn't mind, and told me her son smoked too lol.

and don't get the wrong impression about anti-depressants, the shitty part is some anti-depressants work for some people but not others. you have to find the right one, it might take a while, trial & error, but it's worth your happiness.

Meet's right.
I've also found that antidepressants and Pot work better for Depression than either one by themselves.
The flipside:
If your Depression is misdiagnosed and you're combining the two, I'm not sure that it would help.

Marijuana, used in moderation, is a mood elevator, something that makes you feel better when you're depressed. It doesn't seem to interfere with the actions of antidepressants. Trying to stay high all of the time, though, doesn't work. It can actually increase your depression.

Thanks, thats one thing I'm kind of afraid of is goin through trial and error. It would be worth it to just not have a day where I don't sit in the shower and cry or just feel sorry for myself. I just can't think right anymore all I can think about is the day of her funeral and her just laying there like it's burned into my skull... I get sick thinking about it....



I think that's what happened I started smoking pretty much couple hours I'm gonna cut down because it barelly helps anymore I don't even get munchies.

Thanks for the usefull posts everyone I think I'll just tell my doctor right away about mu pot use and have a long talk ... I really need help.

Valium,diazapam,xanex,mirtazophine,and the rest of the Rx tranqs.& mood suppressors,are to be taken with caution,with side effects being a problem. Alcohol, is dangerous with these medicines,but the psychoactives found in THC, in marijuana, should be OK. Of course, ask Your physician. It isn't the THC, but rather the chemicals in prescription drugs,that have such strange side effects.

Ive been smoking with anti depressents (lexapro and clomipramine) for the past 16 months and the combo worked nicely for me

I had to quit smoking 2 weeks ago because of my parents (they caught me)

yeah definitely do not smoke daily when you are already depressed. it increased my depression like crazy. moderation is key!
