Does Cannabis hinder growth at all? I've read that marijuana has been shown to decrease the output of growth hormone, but I wouldn't be surprised if this was perhaps a scare tactic or a questionable study. Has anyone heard about this?

I'm pretty sure that it actually does, a lot of other members here have more info on this than me, but I do remember hearing that this is not actually a myth. That is why I would advise against 14-15 year olds smoking, not to mention affected growth of the brain.

Possibly a scare tactic, but I think it's partly truthful as well. I'd be interested to hear what some of the more knowledgeable members here have to say on the matter.

One of my friends in high school was 6 foot 5 his freshman year and he started smoking weed when he was 10(his parents and brother smoked so they didn't care that he started).And another one of my friends started smoking the summer after 6th grade and he grew only to be 5' 3.

I think it's more of a scare tactic but then again who knows if it is true.

I assume doing any kind of drug would have that effect on a person under 16.
