CHBC news reported yesterday that Nyle Nagy, a Kelowna, British Columbia man who lives at the Brookhaven care home, was forcefully removed from his wheelchair and put in bed for a week after manager Adrien Vaughan objected to his legal use of medical marijuana.

"She sent two men over here to take my wheelchair and tell me that I've got to stay in this chair for seven days, as a punishment", Nagy told the TV crew.

"To get rid of my pain and my spasms, that's the only two reasons I smoke it" said Nagy, who has a license from the Canadian government to smoke marijuana.

The news comes in the wake of a similar abuse case in Vancouver where a diabetic, double-amputee woman died after being evicted for legally smoking medical marijuana.

they want to force you to use their drugs - addictive pharmaceuticals can cause constipation, sexual dysfunction, nausea, lethargy, sleep disturbance, and in severe cases, death, but the good news is that your employers, hospitals, care facilities, landlords, and the government are statutorily forbidden from discriminating against you for using those drugs, or even asking if you use those drugs in most cases, thanks to the Americans with Disabilities Act. That’s a federal law, which naturally doesn’t apply to medical marijuana, because as far as the feds are concerned, medical marijuana is an oxymoron.

Even if mj use isn't allowed at this 'care home', it still sounds like his rights were violated, as far as restricting him to a bed as punishment.

his rights were for sure violated, that lady didn't even want to talk.
that place is sketchy as hell - i would NEVER send anyone
i cared about there - its sad, becuase when it all comes down to it -
sometimes people die becuase the hospitals or doctors refuse to give a lifesaving transplant simply becuase medical marijuana.

I belong to the VA hospital and until recently they didn't approve of vets using it medicinally and could refuse services...but now they overturned and see the benefits of vets using it unless they noticed most vets prolly have cannabis in their systems

it's legal in canada right?
he paid or at least the caregiver was paid to care for him right?
that care would include allowing him to use his , legal , prescribed medicine ...right?

the person who gave the order should be arrested and charged and prosocuted to the fullest extent of the law and be barred from ever working in that field forever

the 2 who actualy removed the man should also be charged , along with anyone who witnessed this and did nothing

i agree that the fat bitch and her goons should be arrested, what they did was fucking sickening

i dont agree about witnesses being punished, i mean personally if i saw this going on those guys would be picking their teeth off the floor, but then i'd get charged for attacking staff, and some people might not be too eager about the consequences

like i said, peronally i would've flipped if i saw this kind of discriminative cruelty going on, but its up to other people if they'd wanna put their freedom at stake tbh
