| Welcome to Cheaptalk. Alot of people say the same thing. Some people think it effects the length of your REM sleep and some think its effects your ability to recall the dreams. Try a search for dreaming. There are alot of threads. http://www.marijuana.com/420/showthread.php?t=30780 |

| I have a medical condition that causes me to get way to much REM sleep. Instead of normal sleep cycles I dream all the time. In fact, I dream when I'm awake - if I stare at a blank wall I can see my dream scenario projected there. This is really exhausting. Sometimes I wake up in the morning feeling like I'd just run a marathon. I've found that smoking a little Indica and a dose of the old-fashioned sedating antidepressant Trazodone at bedtime supresses REM/dreaming so that I can get a few hours of deep sleep every night. So - I'm not surprised that smoking inhibits your dreaming to some extent.

| Is indica better for dream-suppression than sativa? If so I think I'll start smoking more sativa, I miss my dreams too =( I still have some but not like I used to before I smoked regularly. I remember when I was a kid half my dreams would be lucid on their own, without me even trying.

| ok well for the last week i have been smoking none stop and going to sleep high. but last night i decided to go to sleep sober and not high. so i toke me a while to fall asleep but i finally did and then the weirdest thing happend i started dreaming and it looked soo real. usually my dreams are a little foggy and not clear, but this was so realistic it was crazy it started to freak me out...am not gonna start explaining the dream but when i woke up i found my self out of breath and also my legs moving in a running motion...so five minute later i went back to sleep and i had another dream and is was just as realistic but it was more personal and then when i woke up i found my self crying! it was soo weird and when i usually dream i know its just a dream...but i thought this was real! if this has ever happend to anyone please tell me why this happend to me |

| That's perfectly normal.. Since marijuana creates dreams(?), it eliminates the need for REM(Random Eye Movement) which is the naturally occuring event of dreaming. However, when you stop smoking marijuana, your REM levels 'catch up' for all the nights where REM hasnt been prevalent. So, after stopping smoking you will dream more intensely. Thats the scientifical explanation anyway. From my own personal experience i started forgetting about all of my dreams when i was around 10/11 but then i began to remember each dream the next day when i started smoking. Since i dont smoke daily and regularly go on breaks i dont realise the change in dreaming frequency when i smoke and when i don't. All i know is that since i started smoking marijuana, there hasn't been a week where i havent dreamt something and remembered it.

| Well I to have had dreams where they are very realistic where i am either falling, running, or am havin alot of fun. When i wake up i usually am disappointed because the dream itself was very cool. The dreams do only seem to occur the day after i have smoked when I am no longer high. So it is perfectly normal and is just a minor side-effect. So its all good ![]() P.S. its kinda like a cannabis hangover but in your sleep. |

| cannabis will invoke your living dreamscape (imagination) by unlocking your conciousness and freeing your will from whatever has it bound, by definition it is neurological stimulation. This doesn't so much eliminate the need for rem sleep but invokes the usage of it, this will also ,lead to the stimulation of your pineal gland which in itself will invoke melatonin production. by inducing trance through theraputic sound and color you can activate it, it is possible that overstimulation will leave it less prone to usuage at night (careful lethargy is fools gold) however it will not make a difference in a mental health patient who would not normally make usuage of the REM sequence. this is a continued practice your day dreams are the same as your night dreams whatever kind of energy you put into your mind is the kind of energy that will lead the direction in which they run |
