| I've always found that if I smoke a little bit more when I get panicky it helps a lot... Sometimes just packin' a little more weed in the bowl and smokin' it makes everything better. Hope this helps... ![]()

| Hey wassup fello stoners, look... I got plenty of anxiety attacks, cause I got seizures, (i'm epileptic) so naturally I'm afraid of having one. An anxiety attack is something that happens when u do something that u r terrified of, or think is going to happen. You tend to scare yourself into believing ur gunna die or watevr the case is, and in some cases u can scare urself enuf u have one. Like me, I'm terrified of seizures, if I have a panic attack bad enuf, I could actually make myself seize, even though it wasn't supposed to happen. Marijuana doesn't usually make ur heart beat fast, cause ur so relaxed and mellow. When u have a panic attack however, ur heart beats fast, you freak out, you get sweaty palms, and you start to shake. All you really have to do is tell urself that ur ok, that nothing bad is happening to you, and that its all in your head, Because that is wat a panic attack is. But If it gets to bad, I would recommend seeing a doctor about it, you feel soo much better after talking to them, or you can get medication for it. |

| Well, i gotta say this is quite an interesting site here. Ive spent the last 2 and a half hours just browsing the forums and i have already learned alot about MJ. I have used MJ several times, ive had good highs, and ive had bad ones. But last friday, i had a particularily bad experience. I had the day off of school, and my parents were at work. I saw this as an oppertunity to get stoned, and bought 1g off of one of my good friends. (he got it from his dealer.. this friend of mine is a regular smoker). So friday at around noonish, i journeyed outside to my fav spot i smoke in, and took probably 7 or 8 big hits (like usual). i finished say half of the g off, and now its waiting for me whenever i feel the need. But here is where my question comes in. Everything was great while i was stoned at first.. i was havin fun trippin out as i threw my coke can (old school eh? ) out, and i got back into my house and watched a movie. I couldnt stay focused on the movie so i decided to play guitar. Holy crap i have never had so much fun in my life while playing guitar.. it seemed as if I WAS the music.. i was just floating everywhere. But after a while i started to feel sick, and my ribs felt as if they wre on fire.So here i was sitting on the couch with my ribs feeling as if they were on fire, and then it felt like the EXACT CENTRE of my body was exploding.. from the inside out. In my head i saw a super close up of a calm bit of water, with a single drop falling into it, and disrupting the calmness. I could FEEL the noise of the water inside me.. but it was a low, loud single sound. Like the thump of a sub-woofer. I put my hand over my heart, and i started trippin out again.. things were coming at me in the beat of my heart.. i dont know what they were.. but first they were close, then they backed off.. and they didnt move, the teleported. back and forth. I then assumed i was going to puik so i went into the bathroom and with no luck, i stared at myself in the mirror for a while. Then i get this idea taht i smoked too much so i asked my friend who was with me (who was completely fine) if it was possible to smoke too much. She said that yes it was possible, and that your body wouldnt be able to handle it and it would shut down. But then she added that there was no way in hell that i smoked to much, cuz i didnt even finish the g. So i was happy for a while, and i calmed myself. i was still mildly stoned at around 11pm, which from what i read from some other posts here, is common. But during that period of scaredness.. i was terrified, the more i thought about it, the worse it got Now, obviously i had a panic attack, like so many of you in the forums here have had. I have done my reading, and i experienced almost exactly what some of the people here described. But, as a novice, i would like to know what any type of laced MJ looks like. the bag that i have does have small visible CLEAR chrystals on it, but i cant see any on the weed itself. (i discovered this AFTER my unusual experience) From what i know from reading some of the posts, a laced batch would have somthing more visible, and that the laced batches are also very rare. For the record, this was my first time buying. I usually just go with my friends who supply for me. So this was the one time i actually was able to inspect the baggie. | Oh, i think i should add, i havent tried tasting the bud yet.. but its on my to do list.. i check for bitterness.. right? I'm sick right now so i really dont want to go to all of the trouble walking upstairs.. too far away from the bathroom -_- |

| It wasn't laced man, you just freaked out. Those crystals you saw on the inside of the bag are the good stuff... mmmm THC. The biggest problem is that when you started feeling bad, instead of doing something else or calming yourself down you focused on it. Next time if it happens just remind yourself that nothing bad is really happening, it's just you letting your high freak you out. |

| it looks to me like there are 2 different types of panic attacks in this thread, idk if they are related or not. about a quarter of these ppl are describing exactly how i feel during a panic attack, while the rest im pretty sure are experiencing something different than me. I got panic attacks occasionally for the last 3 months id say, but ive been smoking thru them. i usually accomplish thsi by not smoking half as much weed as i used to per session. first let me clarify something im going to refer to the entire experience as a a bad trip, and im going to refer to the worst feeling in the world, which i cant fully descrribe as a "hit" but just recently i was smomking bongs in my dorm with some friends and had one of the worst of the worst ive ever had. one of my friends was smoking a bong for his first time so ii was teaching the kid how to do it without blowing smoke all over the room and getting us all busted. so the kid was trying to smoke the bong but he wasnt suctioning the bong, he was sorta sipping from it. at this point i was pretty blazed. I was likie no dude u gotta suction it. and i wasnt really paying attension to him as he did this but then he proceeded to stick the bong in his mouth, which at the point was the absolute funniest thing ive seen in months, just becasue i never even thought of smoking a bong that way. i mean doesnt that seem a little unnatural so i was laughing my ass off for 5 minutes straight about that, and my friend was like well it wasnt THAT funny. and i reallized it wasnt...I know weedsd supposed to make u all giddy and laugh but that was only when i was jsut starting, after that its been more a chill high not one of those times where u just laugh at everrything u know? well anyways about a minute after all that laughing i felt my bad trip coming on. and it grew into one of the worst trips ive had lasting the entire high (usually does sometimes i can fall asleep), about 3 hours.during these attacks all my senses become superpowered so to say. if i taste something sweet it tastes reaaaaaaaaaaaaaly sweet, or touch something cold it feels reaaaaly cold and so on sometimes followed by numbess. these senses usually bring on an attack. the first time i had one triggered this way it was from drinking water. as it poured down my throat i became intensely aware of how cold, and the taste of the water, and suddenly my whole mouth goes numb and the water suddenly seems textured like syrup. but this is where i feel differently about it then everyone else. Everyone says chill out when u feel it coming and relax. i wish it were as simple as that. s the attacks hit me fast and hard lasting about a second then i go back to numbness and the strangest sensations everr. on more intense situations i feel liek i am getting a massage and it feels good some of the time., then wait for the next hit. if i chill out and ignore it they still come and seem to hit me harder because im not ready. i find the best way to cope with them is stay on gaurd and be prepared to fight off the intense "hits" (the feeling im talking about is the one that lasts about a second) another way to cope which is sorta funny is get a boner. . yes im serious, and it does help me get through the attacks. it deintensifys the high i think becuase that pulls alot of blood from ur brain. being with someone u love also is prolly the best way to spend these freak outs. plus it gives u a reason to get sex on demand lol..... i was fortunate to have sex during one of my freak outs, and it felt sooo good it would prolly be the best sex evver because all my senses seem to be heightend, but the fact that im also feeling the worst feeling ever some of the times keeps it from being that. sex can almost cancel it out for me, and thats how ive been getting thru them recently.Also, these attacks dont seem to be dependent on how high i am, which sucks! becuase recently ive built up quite a tolerance and i have to smoke alot of weed to get wherre i wanna be, but i cant achieve it anymore becuase the panic attacks come before i can get high. so becasue of this im taking a break i guess . I LOVE smoking weed but it just isnt worth these freakouts when they happen. Im taking a break till next summer where im gonna do some outdoor growing, so i know exactly what im smoking.also lately ive bottled up from my social life, ive sortof become anti social. when im up at college i like to smoke alot of weed and spend most of my time playing guitar piano and videogames and listening to music. its been a hella good for me musically, because its all i seem to like doing now. but it is alsoo very depressing. For some rreason i get all nervous in social situations now even when im not on the dope. sometimes i find it hard to even smile at my or laugh along wiht my best friends. Like ill be talking to a friend and hes telling me a funny story and all of a sudden i just feel really ****ty and my smile starts to twitch and then i feel like i have no reason to smile and i try to force it and sometimes it makes things weierd. and other times i feel completely fine and can have a good time with them even when im high. idk if this is related, but i saw it in the giant motha f-ckin panic attack thread, so i thought id mention it. and right now im chillen here typeing this and experiencing very mild attacks and im not even high. just recently ive begun to get them without smoking, they come at the wierdest times, usually when i just wake up in the morning and am trying to fall back asleep all of a sudden bam i get hit by it, the same feeling i used to only get whne i was high. the last thing i want to do is quit for good, because weed means alot to me i prolly would switch my major from music. Also most of my good friends are stoners and we spend most our time stoned. i dont wanna hang around and watch everyone else get stoned, id just get jealous and if im there id prolly smoke it. if i had to quit and id have to totally change my life. heres a list of things i believe may be related 1. Breathing patterns 2. strain of marijuanna 3. diet ( alot of times during the trip i have an upset stomach) 4. magic mushrooms o and to the moderaters can u please try to sort the anxiety attack thread out? i dont think that they should all be bunched like that, mabey have one thread for panic attacks, one for freak outs, one for anxiety and depression, i dont think that they are all related. ifany body knows anything that could help or knows anything at alll about this condition please post. |

| hey guys i recently had the same reactions as i had before, but with no weed, i was at work and it just happened, they told me i was having a panic attack..since then ive had it happen 2 more times...im goin to the doctor on monday...i think the weed may have caused my attacks.. |

| When my husband (and smoking buddy since we were highschoolers) started having panic attacks after smoking pot, I set out to find out as much as I could so that I might help "cure" him of his debilitating condition. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of information available to someone looking to help a person smoke pot again. (haha) I have advice for anyone out there suffering from the panic attack problem, but nothing that's for certain. Everyone is different. Repeat the drug user's mantra - know your body, know your drug. My husband's first attack happened after a long night of "binge" smoking and munching out in front of the tv. I think the fact he was zoning out and not talking to anyone for at least an hour helped bring the attack on. There are quite a few signs that a person is having some sort of panic or anxiety attack. If the symptoms are indentified quickly, it is possible to bring someone out of the experience. If someone you know begins to talk about or exhibit "rushes" going up and down their body, begins to look or act really drunk even though they havn't had anything to drink, has trouble breathing or seems as though they're trying to control their breathing, complains of chest pains or think they might be having a heart attack, feels numbness in their body, turns white or pale, has the cold sweats and shivers, thinks they're dying, dead, or hyperventilates - chances are they're having an attack. Note: It is common for someone having an attack to pass out when they hyperventilate. It may also look like the person is having a seizure after they pass out - don't worry unless the person has a history of seizures or the seizure-like motions last longer than a few seconds. A person who hyperventilates may also vomit afterwards (a caution to those driving a post-attack person home!) or seem very disoriented. (walk with them!) To help a person having an attack out, simply talk to them about things other than what's happening. Keep their attention or joke around. If you're romantically linked to the person, get sexual. Sexual acts are perfect for such a situation. (Note: If a female is having an attack don't just screw her brains out unless she wants you to! Do what makes HER feel best. As for guys, a blow job always seems to do the trick for my husband.) As for taking a person having an attack to the hospital - use it as a last resort. Besides the trouble it may get you into, mostly doctors just give you a nerve pill and send you on your merry way. That's a bill most of us don't need. Of course, a person having an attack thinks they're in the worst situation in their life. They feel like they're dying and all you're doing is talking to them. So if they insist opon being taken to the doctor, always allow them to go. Preventing an attack is the hard part. Smoking only what you need, although it may seem the puss thing to do, is a good idea. Breathe into a bag if you begin to feel weird. Trying to go to sleep usually doesn't work. I hope this information will be useful, although it's not very in-depth. See you all at 420. -jen |

| That was a very good post. I think this should be a panic attack guideline/information thread. Though I don't know anybody that has ever had a panic attack, I think that I will be more suited to help anyone if need be after reading this.
