| I am interested in hearing from any who believe that Marijuana has been effective for attention deficit disorder, whether that condition has been diagnosed or not. Do you or have you used Marijuana to help you focus at school or work? Did it work? If you were diagnosed (correctly or not) and used other medications as well (with or without M), what did you use? Which worked better for you? I am interested in your personal experience or observations about this. Responses from doctors or professionals would be especially helpful. |

| Im not a doctor or anything but i was diagnosed with ADD/depression about 2 years ago. i tried the meds they always give out for that sort of thing (welbutrin, zoloft, concerta) and they all ether did nothing or made me think strange thoughts (i had a really bad experience with welbutrin). So i tried pot (not because of the ADD, just because i wanted to try it) and it really helped me actually. I had a C-D average in classes before i started smoking pot every night, and now i get As and Bs in my senior year of high school. The pot helped more with the depression then the ADD, but i think smoking a little (note: i said A LITTLE) before you do homework/study can really help keep you on task. Of corse smokeing 3-4 bowls is great, but that might make your mind wander more then keep focused. I think its worth a shot, but i wouldn't recommend smoking alot before school. Good Luck |

| undefinedundefinedundefined I am currently happily stoned on Marnol. It's been an uphill battle with my doctor. Have been prescribed 120 5mg Marinol pills a month. Would relyyy like to get involved in any kind of scientific study, but I don't know where to turn. i know pot is not a cure all, but i know it sure helps take the edge off. I really want to contribute my experiences to add to the very limited knowledge aboout marinol. Who do I contact? |

| Psst...I looked at that article and it's SOOOO good ...i thought I'd waste the bandwidth and put it here...from April 20, 2004 (how apropos!) Cannabis 'Scrips to Calm Kids? Tuesday, April 20, 2004 By Kelley Beaucar Vlahos WASHINGTON — As a California pediatrician and 49-year-old mother of two teenage daughters, Claudia Jensen says pot might prove to be the preferred medical treatment for attention deficit disorder (search) — even in adolescents. "Why would anyone want to give their child an expensive pill … with unacceptable side effects, when he or she could just go into the backyard, pick a few leaves off a plant and make tea for him or her instead?" Jensen asked the Drug Policy Subcommittee of the House Government Reform Committee earlier this month. While some wonder whether Jensen was smoking some wacky weed herself, the clinician for low-income patients and professor to first-year medical students at the University of Southern California (search) said her beliefs are very grounded: The drug helps ease the symptomatic mood swings, lack of focus, anxiety and irritability in people suffering from neuropsychiatric disorders like ADD and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (search). "Cannabinoids are a very viable alternative to treating adolescents with ADD and ADHD," she told Foxnews.com. "I have a lot of adult patients who swear by it." Under California state law, physicians are allowed to recommend to patients the use of Marijuana to treat illnesses, although the federal government has maintained that any use of Marijuana — medicinal or otherwise — is illegal. The federal courts have ruled that physicians like Jensen cannot be prosecuted for making such recommendations. | |
