Default Chronic use lowers appetite?

Hello all. Temporary munchies after a smoke aside, I've noticed that as I've become a more regular user, my appetite has gone down noticeably. I know tobacco smoking lowers your appetite. I assumed it was the nicotine. But maybe the act of smoking itself lowers appetite?

I don't smoke tobacco, so this is my first experience being a regular smoker, and I'm wondering if there might be a correlation. My stomach hurts worse the next morning, and it's usually six or seven hours before I even feel like eating.

I wouldn't mind losing my appetite, as mine was a little too gluttonous to begin with, and I've got the pounds to prove it. I'm just curious if there might be a bonus side effect I hadn't expected.

Any thoughts?

Question

I've been smoking weed for a few years now, but only in the past year or so have I started smoking between 1 and 3 times daily. It seems that almost simultaneously I started losing weight. And within 4 or 5 months I've lost 30 lbs. It's something to think about.

YES...

What you are noticing is from smoking weed ...and smoking it in "high" doses -- 3 or 4 times a day.

Essentially what you are doing is allowing your body to recognize it's own signs of hunger and thirst and reply to those needs, rather than responding to the artificial needs created by commercials and advertrisements which are created to "seduce" you to eat or consume.

You have learned to recognize when you are hungry and to feed yourself with real foods accordingly...and in return you have lost weight.

Helluva concept eh?

No one believed me either but I've dropped a total of 40 lbs ...I was a much chubbier Mama LOL

...have a cookie

Are you saying that cannabis screens the psych against commercialism and subliminal advertising?

No...

I'm saying cannabis makes you more self aware --- If that self awareness allows you to screen out commercialism and seductive advertising, that could substantially assist you in denying unnecessary and unneeded calories from your diet

I think there is some truth in what you are saying. I smoked last night, and this morning I ate an apple and felt full. Calm. Usually I'm nervous and hungry in the mornings.

I agree that smoking mj makes you more selfaware. It also gives you a dry mouth.

I think it has to do with the strain and condition of the bud you are smoking. Ive noticed in the past that smoking really good dro does made me lose weight and pressed or bricked bud gave me the munchies.

just my 2 cents......
