| Sup guys im new here and stuff like that. Ive got a question with a rather lengthy introduction - please bare with me First time I smoked dro was when I was about 13, with two older cousins, I remember it well, like the first time I busted a nut. The aroma was so delightful, and its taste was something unique and flavorful , it was rolled inside of a black n mild flavored cigar leaf . I'll never forget it! It was a hefty blunt too, half a dime bag. They instructed me on how to smoke - inhale, hold for 5 to 10 seconds and exhale. Anyway, we smoked (puffed n passed) for about an hour or so, maybe longer, until it was a roach, I kept the roach and tweasered it later that day. I expected to feel relaxed, and happy , but it wasnt like that. while they were quiet, calm, red eyed and sleepy looking, or laughing at anything, I felt nothing, I guess I wasnt high. I smoked about 3 times after that and never got high. The fourth time I smoked I guess I got high, if I did, I sure as hell didnt like it. I freaked out man! My heart started racing and thoughts were flying through my mind at an astonishing rate. I was confused. I thumped my ears and they "clinked" like metal! I panicked so bad I called the paramedics because I thought I was going to freakin die! It was so embarrassing, I was thinking to myself, am I a big puzzy or something? If I cant handle weed, does this make me, a giant sissy? Am I incompatible with weed? If I smoke again will I freak out? Is paranoia always experienced when blazing? I've read somewhere that weed can relax you and slow down your heart rate, initially there will be an increase in heart rate and BP but later on in the process you will become calmer, and this is when you feel the better effects of weed. If this is so, why the heck did this happen? |

| bro ive seen people freak out just like your talking about so dont think your a puzzy but one thing ive noticed on this forum is alot of people who smoke have had panic attacks when theyre not smoking and when theyre smoking im wondering if people who experience these attacks are more likely to use MJ longer and more heavily than others.Try smoking by yourself in a safe place where you can relax and not worry about anything but getting HIGH! ![]() |

| Yeah I agree with Ken, smoke some place with a TV and some munchies. ![]() The first few times I smoked I never got anything off of it at all. But early into uni I toked on a little packed up pipe and it was crazy, I had the worst giggles, but it was ok because I was among friends. I felt a bit like my heart was rushing and that I wanted it to stop, but I chilled out and watched a movie (sort of- I was talking to myself in my head most of the time )After that time though I always got a nice buzz, even from small joints, and it feels more social, like drinking. However one time more recently I took a few hits from a stranger's joint and got really, really dizzy I had to sit down for a minute or 2, then threw up. That was the 1st and only time I threw up on weed (admittedly I had been drinking for a while beforehand, but was fine until I smoked). I don't know exactly why, maybe that particular strain didn't agree with me, or it had been laced with something else. My advice to you would be to try again, in a safe place. I'm glad that I smoke weed, it is such a nice sociable activity and opens my daily sober thoughts up to new ideas. Good Luck JJBongalong. |

| It sounds like the typical first timer. Most people don't get high their first time, or even the second or third. It usually takes about five times to actually get high, but some people do experience it the first time (like I did) and that's usually because they smoked out of a bong. The "trip" you had is going to be the most high you'll ever be, hands down. Everytime after your first "high" it's not the same. So go out and get some nice quality bud and roll a small joint up. Light some incense, dim the lights, put on some Bob Marley or something, maybe put on some cartoons on the TV but mute it so you can hear the music; then light up your joint and just enjoy yourself. If you DO happen to freak out, drink some water, eat a couple crackers, and just remind yourself that this is a natural plant that has been growing and used for thousands of years. You'll be fine And yes, panic attacks happen to everyone, or I assume everyone. It's just one of the negative aspects of bud, especially for the smoker who's just starting out. If anything, smoke with someone you really like, like your best friend, they can always bring you "back down" with some comforting words. Also remember this: when smoking cannabis, the most it's going to last is 4 hours. Within the first 10 minutes you'll start to feel high, around 15-30 minutes you'll reach the peak (the highest point of the high) of the high, and then from 45+ minutes you'll start to come down. For the really beginner smoker, you might feel "spacey" for the next couple of hours, or even until the next day, that's also nothing to worry about, and it happens to everyone and it goes away as you become accustomed to smoking and the effects of cannabis. http://www.erowid.org/plants/cannabi..._effects.shtml
