| I just recently had a major surgery on my leg, its one of those lengthening proceedures with a fixture called a lizeroff, anyway I have been smoking pot at night since my operation because it takes away all the pain and discomfort. I had to quite smoking ciggarettes because my doc. said it would prevent my bones from growing back together. but he didnt say anything about pot, cuz i didnt tell him im smoking. i would just like to know if smoking pot would in anyway prevent or slow the healing of my bones. Please if there's anyone that can help I would really appreciate it. |

| I don't know for sure- I wish I did. Smoking cigarettes is really bad after orthopedic surgery. BTW So is taking motrin, alleve, orudis- or any other nonsteroidal anti inflammatory. You want your body to have an inflammatory response because that's what makes the bones fuse. Smoking cigarettes has an anti inflammaory effect on your body- but I think it's linked more to the nocotine than the actual smoking but just to be sure you may want to try some other method of getting stoned. Good luck wiht your recovery. Take care of yourself.

| I have recently found out from a couple of my friends that smoking pot is harmless to my leg and its healing process. Party on! ![]()
