Hi, I've been having these pains in the upper sternum of my chest for almost a year now. the pain is present when I stretch or push my shoulders forward and also with trunk rotation. the symptoms very much resemble costochondritis. around a year ago it seemed like I developed chronic bronchitis from smoking weed. I would cough up a lot of phglem and sometimes there were traces of blood in it. I guess I have pretty weak lungs to begin with. since that time I have cut down on my smoking drastically and I don't cought anymore but these chest pains wont go away. The pain gets better if I dont smoke for a week or so, almost to the point where its not noticable, but then If I take a couple of tokes the pain comes back full force on the next day and lasts approximately 3 days. I went to see a doctor about this once but he totally blew me off perscribing me some anti-biotics and not even giving me a chest x-ray. I guess I should go see another doctor but I dont have a lot of faith in them. so if this kind of thing has ever happened to you I would love to hear about it. thank you.

If the problem persists after a doctor has treated you for it then you should go back to the doctor or if you dont trust him another doctor.

If the pain gets better when you stop smoking then why dont you just stop so the pain goes away? You can always cook marijuana if you still want it that bad. This way atleast you will know if its just the smoking that is doing it to you.

This has never happened to me before. But any thing with chest pains and coughing up blood is never good. Go back to the doctor as soon as possible. Good Luck
