It sounds like the combined effects of an off-topic substance and a lot of pot in a very short period of time. I've been smoking for 37 years and never experienced full-blown hallucinations from pot alone.

It's reports like this that that support government claims that marijuana is a dangerous drug.

Well it couldn't be PCP or mushrooms, the effects described do not coincide. LSD cannot be smoked, and that's the only other thing I could think of at the moment. Like he said, it was his 4th or 5th time getting high, that's normally when people "get high" for the first time. He's probably exaggerating some events, more importantly the hallucinations, because cannabis alone will not induce those kinds of vivid hallucinations, not even mushrooms will do that.

Most people have similar stories such as: being in a movie, things moving frame by frame, etc.

from personal experience marijuana does create vivid hallucinations, or mybe it just enhances flashbacks either way ive hallucinated on just smokin the reefer...

I may not be up on current slang, but isn't "tweakin" a euphemism for injecting methamphetamine?

When I asked Google to define "tweaking" it came up with:

A level of speed intoxication reached after one or two days of constant use, characterized by obsessive behaviour.

Back in the 60s we discovered that a high dose of speed plus a high dose of marijuana would produce effects very similar to a dose of LSD.

On the topic of hallucinations, I have never used any recreational drugs other than pot and alcohol, but I get the feeling pot simply does not (or very rarely) provide vivid or 'real' hallucinations.

I have 'seen' things when high, or heard things. But I think it's more that your brain is confused about the stimuli it is getting. As in you see something that IS there, but to your stoned mind, it appears as something else, or something trippy - as in "remember when you dropped your keys and we though the phone was ringing?".

IMO Marijuana doesn't make you see things that aren't there, but it confuses your imagination with reality. You might see a really spooky looking tree, and jump in fright, or think its alive, or looking at you, whereas if you were sober, you would just notice a tree that looks spooky, and think that it's interesting.

This person who saw stuff in the city lights, I can completely relate, in that I can see myself doing the exact same thing. I wouldn't really see it as hallucinating though - it's like seeing shapes in the clouds. It's just your imagination running wild. And when your on weed, your imagination is more vivid, more intense, and you come up with more and wackier ideas.

Yes i admit it doesn't happen on the regular or even at all for some people but they cant rule out it doesnt happen to other people, weed does have mild halucinogen properties,not like your normal acid or shrooms,but weed is a mild halucinogen and if you take enough of something mild it can produce vivid hallucinations in this posters case

In those first few time I actually got high I remember visuals, whether they were actually hallucinations or just my imagination freeing itself to expand even more, I know not, but I think that's what he's talking about. I mean he's not having conversations with purple people eaters, I think it's just mild visuals.

i wasnt taking or drinking or injecting or smoking any off topics. like vitta said i think it was more like seeing shapes in the clouds or something. i havent tried going back sober and seeing if i still see it but i will the next time i go up there. it looked to me like lights were shining on certain parts of buildings and stuff and it was just creating the illusion.


when i said "tweakin" i just meant i was HELLA high.

I personally only had mild hallicinations the first time that i was high. I got stuck in a daze lookin in a mirrior for a couple minutes becuase it looked like my body was still but everything around it was swaying, and yah i did get that sensation that i was swaying on a ship. I also walked through this hallway covered in poasters and it looked like the poasters were kind of swirling around me, like i was walking through a rainbow tunnel. But that was only the first time i got high, and my boyfriend said that he thought it might have been laced after we smoked it. But i donno, because i have done other hallucinagens and the hallucinations i get from them are different then the kind i experienced from weed that one time. so i don't know if those really were just the effects of weed, because i have never experienced anything like that from weed ever since, but i also haven't had the same kind of effects from other hallucinagens, so i don't know...but if you do want to have some fun with weed, and you haven't tried this before, turn on some music, turn off the lights, and turn a strobe light. I know i'm prolly like the 50 millionth person to try this stuff but just thought i would reccomend it anyways...watching yourself clap fast or walk towards a mirrior fast is crazy.
