| This is probly a totally stupid question and I think ive just lost it but yea. Ok, so ive become totally paranoid about pot in the last while, maybe its because I havent smoked weed in about a month or mebe im just going crazy. Anyways I smoked up a few times after having a panic attack a few months ago, it was pretty scary, but I keep on gettin freaked about the weed, like thinking it could be laced and stuff, or that I will freak out again. I used to love smokin weed before, I havent even been a smoker for a year, but yeah i dont seem to look forward to it anymore... Can someone tell me if im just going crazy or if i actually have something to be worried about, I know the guy thats selling it to us and i have tried that stuff before.... also out of curiosity, would any lacings be taken out by bong water? |

| Sam: Take a deep breath... There are no stupid questions accept the one you don't ask... Read the info Higher Logic linked for you...and then take a look at some of the Threads on Panic Attacks and Freak Outs other have had. A great deal has to to do with mind set -- Since weed can often take you on "flights of fancy" you can trick yourself into thinking that it is something more than it is. Also...as I'm fond of saying... Toking is NOT a competitive sport You only need a little and you don't have to compete with others over "how much they smoke" Be a cheap pot head ...make YOUR stash last Be sure you are getting enough sleep and eating correctly -- and you may even want to take a break from the weed -- it's bee around a few milion years , it will be around in a month or so I'm sure. If you still feel anxious, you may have issues in your life that you need to discuss with a professional. That's what psychologists are there for -- working through your issues and helping you find ways to cope or change your routines to deal with stress -- Give that a try. Sometimes our friendly weed can bring up things in our psyche (mind) that we otherwise ignore (hey, we're strong we can handle it right?) but it makes us aware of the underlying feelings. | Thanks, ya know, its weird.... Im honestly worrying over nothing i sometimes hit myself and think like jeez what are you worrying about its not gonna happen, and then i think i might have a bad reaction again etc etc its just a vicious cycle i probly need more sleep. |

| Repeated panic attacks are indicative of one of two things. The more serious case is that the person has an underlying anxiety disorder that is amplified by marijuana's ability to take your fantasies further than they go when you're straight. To get past this one would probably require some counseling. What I think is more common is that a person has one panic attack and has some anxiety about it happening again. There's an old saying, "Once burned, twice shy." Since set (expectations) and setting (physical environment) are as important as the weed itself in what kind of high you experience, going into it with anxiety about panic attacks can drive you right into another panic attack. In the second case, knowing what is going on gives you a tool with which to change your set. If you improve your setting - have things around that make you feel happy and secure - it will also help. I find that I can't have a bad time when I get high outdoors on a beautiful day. There are too many positive things to hold my attention for me to dwell on the various knots inside my head.

| totally true i find that im thinking about stuff thats gonna happen weeks in advance probly what makes me so paranoid all the time. |
