| Dear Sir/Madame, I have a problem, I am not a frequent marijuana smoker but I have taken a high now and then from it since I was sixteen and I am now 22. The last time I smoked was a month plus ago, and it had an effect on me that it never had before, I had this panic attack of where my heart speeded up rapidly. I stay away from it but just recently bout 2days ago I just had like threw or four puffs from a joint and it has changed me. I cannot concentrate properly. The following day after that it was like I had a permanent high, I though I was going crazy and I started to panic. I could feel something was wrong it was like something in my mind broke. I was not crazy but is like I was high without taking any drugs that day. I felt dizzy and needed to lie down. When I tried to concentrate like read a book or something I would feel some sort of pressure in the middle of my head and the dizziness would intensify and a slight head ache, with sometimes an increase heart rate and breathing. I went to the doctor but she said there is no medical explanation for my symptoms. Anyway since then the symptoms have lessened but I am still having problems focusing and feeling like me. I have Plans to go back to school for fall and I definitely cannot go like this. I would like to know have you’ll experienced or know any people with similar cases or symptoms to what I have describes. If so do you know of any treatment I could take or get, because I really need professional help. I am scared that it might be permanent the way I feel. I would also like to know can marijuana give brain damage and if so it can be permanent like in my case. I just hope it is not too late cause if I could get over this I swear that’s it for me and marijuana. Peer pressure definatly cannot work on me again. I knew it was not good for me, but I figured a few puffs won’t do anything but I was wrong. I don’t know if you have any information on my situation or similar that could help me out, I would appreciate it. If you could help me or provide me with a doctor or physician who deals with such incidents or cases please email me A.S.A.P bye. |

| First off, don't even be so sure this is pot related. Sometimes after a night of pot smokin I'll wake up feelin' like crap and think "Damn, shouldn't have smoked so much pot last night", then like a week later I'll feel the same way some morning, but havn't smoked pot for a week. Could be a coincidence. If indeed you can acredit this to pot, then just wait a few days or weeks if you must. You'll likely feel better in time. I personally have never heard of marijuana screwing someone up so rapidly for the long term. Basically, don't worry too much about it and even try not to think about it if at all possible. I am confident your symptoms will go away in time. Similar symptoms are common from smoking pot. Matt |

| There is no evidence that marijuana causes any kind of brain damage. That's one worry off your mind. It sounds like your marijuana experience tripped an anxiety switch in your brain. One effect of anxiety is that you produce a lot of adrenaline, which makes you feel high. After that you tend to crash because your body has been running on overdrive. Have you been feeling like you've had a caffeine overdose? The kind of doctor you'd see for this is a psychiatrist. I don't think that's necessary. The first thing you need to tell yourself is that there's nothing wrong with you. All that's happening is your mind's overreacting to something that shook you up. Since you've already decided to give up marijuana, smoking isn't an issue. Just knowing that should knock some of the energy out of the anxiety problem. Anxiety is one of those things that builds on itself, like a habit. If you interrupt it, eventually it'll fade away.

First...take a deep breath...and oh yes, let it out, then another one...and release that breath. Now most important question answered first: Have you caused yourself serious possibly permanent irreversible brain damage by smoking marijuana, the flower top of the Cannabis plant? The short answer is NO. Cannabis does not cause brain damage. It does not kill brain cells. It does not lower your IQ. Cannabis contains chemicals called cannabinoids most plentiful of which is a chemical called THC. Taking in a greater amount of THC than necessary for a recreational "high" will make you physically ill. The term for this is "cannabis intoxication". Just like being "hung over" from too much alchoholic beverage, you can be "hung over" from cannabis intoxication. The cure for most "hang overs" is the same: Rest, plenty of fluids, eat healthy, get some fresh air and mild exercise --- Depending on how healthy your system is to begin with -- how well you were doing all that before you decided to get intoxicated -- will effect how quickly your system will recover -- but it can take up to a week -- sometimes two. Keep us posted as to how you feel. And next time...TOKE RESPONSIBLY! Mama Budz | ||

| This worked for me read carefully and write it down if you decide to follow: Aright... One night I smoked about half a blunt of very strong purple haze with some very close girl friends of mine, at first I blacked out completely, I didn't know where I was when I was walking I thought it was like I was walking higher and higher it was amazing, just great unimaginable and then when I went into a 24hr deli shop to buy some munchies with the girls & my heart started beating very fast but not pounding hard, I started feeling cramps, pain, stinging feelings it came to a point when I thought so deeply into the stinging feelings in my leg that I decided to sit down on the floor in middle of the shop. the pain passed within minutes and I got back up left a 50 on the counter, took the food and left to one of the girls cars to sit and relax, the girls tried calming me down but the pain was worsining since I was thinking about it so deeply it would just get worse and worse and I decided to go home and sleep it off... The next morning I got up at 10 even though my alarm was on to wake me up at 6 (somehow it didnt go off or I hit the off switch when it went on?) and I had still felt high and very ikky I called in sick at my computer programming job and tried to get rid of this feeling by taking shower after shower after shower it faded a littl bit but I still coudnt concentrate as I am into chess playing whith a rating of 1939 and I was losing to novice chess players online, I called my boss and said I cant make it the following day, I went to sleep with trouble (couldnt fall asleep)... I woke up the next morning at around 5 with the same feeling of being high and ikky and tried to fall back asleep but couldnt so I went to take a shower and then went to play some chess to see if Ive improved and still lost to novices since I couldnt concentrate at all... hours later it still wouldnt go away so I called one of the very experienced smart drug users which went to some courses in med school whos from my nieghborhood and met up with him and he said the thc stuck to my blood and fatty tissues or something and I have to either wait for my body to be cleansed from it which as he said takes up to 26 days... and I asked him what the other way since I have a job so he said I have to switch my diet for about a week and do as follows: (just for the record I missed work the following two days as I couldnt program java & c as I forgot how to combine most of the code formulas but I still knew how to program html but very slow couldnt concentrate ) wake up the usual time you wake up on a regular day and take a walk for 30 minutes then eat one bowl of high in fiber cereal for breakfast and eat vegatables and fruits for snacks for lunch eat a very big vegatble salad preferably with viniger and if not viniger then lemon juice no dressings and continue to eat vegatables and fruits as desired till dinner where I should eat a decent size (medium) nothing that can fill me up more than half. Of either chicken not fried, steak not fried or fish not fried and said preferablly fish! and eat nothing more than that throughout the night besides fruits and vegetables... and he stated that I should try to drink 1-2 tablespoons of viniger 3 times a day (one for lunch. one for dinner, and one before I go to sleep, NOT for breakfast as milk and vniger do not mix well!) I should eat 2-3 kiwis if possible not necesarry and drink atleast 8-12 12oz glasses of water throught the day... and said that it most probably will happen that I will have diarreah throughout the diet most probably the second day if it doesnt go away by then! He said I should take another 30 minute walk 2 hours before I go to sleep, And that I should take 2 moderately cold showers a day. I can stop the diet as soon as I feel back to nomal. My urine started out being more yellow in the beginning of the diet and then started being clear almost like water after the first day. He said not to drink anything atificial like coca cola on seltzered water some times and said to cut down as much as I can NOT COMPLETELY on smoking during the diet (this also relieves some stomach cramps)... He also said anytime throughout the day when im feeling panicy or anxious I should take in deep breaths through my nose and exhale through my mouth. Try to stay away from cakes and fattening food with much sugar and calories it might be hard but try to stay strictly on these guidlines if you decide to follow as I did follow these guidlines strictly and exactly as the person who recommended it to me said It was well worth it. I would chew on gum if I felt a desire for a certain food. By the middle of the second day on the diet I already became back to my old self, got back to programming, got back to playing chess normally, lost 6 pounds & felt great!!! This worked for me but it might not work for everyone as I dont know your body (please dont hold anything I said in this post against me as I am just stating what I went through not telling you what to do!) nor do I know how this drug user knew all this info which saved me but if you decide to follow these guidelines I wish u the best of luck... - John (PS. Please reply with your opinion after you read this post. If you decide to follow these guidlines please keep us updated as to what is happening and what your feeling twice a day if possible as I am very curious! And remember you'll be fine ) |

| yes Johnny thanks for the help I appreciate it very much. You a very good person. I feel better now thanks . Still a little stoned but I am feeling much more like myself. And Johnny one more thing I think we should both stay away from marijuana. Anything that has such a negative effect on ones body is definately not something that should be fooled with. I mean if i drink liquor I may have a hangover the next day if I over do it, but I would never be down for 4 to 5 days. Thats like a whole week of my life just gone for no reason. It affects your brain and your brain controls your body. if u have no brain you cannot function. With liquor it affects mostly your liver so if i decide to get a high fron now on it will be off liquor or wine. Plus the liver is the only part of the body that can repair itself, do you know that? Anyway I am just voicing my opinion. I hope what happened to me never happens to anyone else. Stay safe Johnny |
