The Kidd

Hello I would like to know how long the effects of marijuana can last. I know traces of the drug can stay in your body for up to a month, but can the effect last for a week or longer. Can that happen? Can it actually stay in a person blood and affect their mental or physical health and day to day life for so long.

The effects of marijuana (smoked) can last up to 3 hours. Erowid has a nice graph on the peak and so on of smoking, but you can't like, get high a week later if that's what you're asking.

The actual effects of THC can only last 3 hours, (sometimes more depending on dose and method of administration) because that is how long THC remains in your system before the majority of it is metabolized. Some people report lingering after-effects, but I don't know what causes them -- it certainly isn't THC.

Chronic use doesn't even usually have much of an effect, and the only lingering side effect from smoking every single day is a wicked cough, just like cigarette smokers experience. Most of the negative effects, if the user experiences any, only last for the duration of the high and are absolutely NOT long-term. These negative effects are usually outweighed by the positive effects.

i smoked like a **** load of bud on wednesday.. i only smoke about a g but that today i had 3.. i felt buzzed that whole day and the day after.
smoked from 3 to 330 and felt it till the next afternoon

Kidd, now you are like a guitar string, still vibrating a little bit. If you dont't smoke for a while the string will stop vibrating and you will be fine. It's not the mj still in your system and you have no brain damage at any structural or biochemical level. When you are over it I would definetely try to smoke a little bit again.

The effects of marijuana on your body have some of the same side effects as alcohol. I like to call it the weed hangover definately no where near the amount of physical dehydration as with alcohol but the effect on your brain is there. The MJ hangover just leaves you with a groggy feeling in your head and has a lot to do with what kind of herb that you smoke. The better plant you smoke and whether it was grown indoor or outdoor I find has alot to do with it. It is also a possibility that it may have been laced with some type of drug to help sell the herb if the quality of the pot was crap to begin with. This rarely happens in my situations as I usually know where the stuff came from. It is also very unlikely that it was laced because that would mean that the people selling the schwag would have to invest more money into the product which would cut off their profits, and in this business you will find that people want to make as much as they can. My only suggestion would be to pay a little more for your herb and know who you are dealing with. The quality will be better and you wont have to smoke as much to get the same results.
