Default Im Young, Should I Wait?

I am 15 years old and a daily smoker, I have been for about a year now. Should I worry about what i'm doing to my brain? What affect/affects does pot have on a developing brain?

Hello...and good bye -- as you just outed yourself as underage and will need to be banned from the board (it's 18 and over)...

But before you go.

Will smoking Pot effect brain development:

Physically, your brain is developed by age 15. And the rumor that pot "kills" brain cells is in fact, a myth.

But smoking pot will do a few things at your age. It will increase your emotions -- which at your age and level of emotional development in adolescence, can make life a great deal more confusing, troublesome and difficult.

Smoking Pot feels good. The feeling is called euphoria. And you can start confusing the feeling you get smoking with the feeling you get from doing things that cause natural highs -- sports success, music, dare I say dating? You only get one go at those first experiences in adolescence/teen age years. You probably want to try them sober for awhile.

Smoking can get you in serious trouble -- at home, at your schjool and with the law. That last one...the law...can create issues that will stay with you for life! If you plan on college a Marijuana bust by the police can wind up costing you student loans that would pay for that education. An arrest record will effect your ability to get a job. Even a bust as a kid will effect your being able to qualify for certain high level and high paying jobs in the future (lawyer, doctor, military, anything secure like banking)

I hope that gives you a bit of information.

Going to leave the thread open but...like I said, we have a rule about underage posting so I'll have to say good bye. Please feel free to post in 3 years.

Hugz,

Mama Budz
