Default Eczema

I've noticed that my excema gets worse when i smoke weed and i develop excema on my hand as well.

Is it possible to be allergic to weed? And, if so, how do i shake the allergy? Should i smoke as much as possible, or start with small doses and eventually build up so my body can develop a tolerance to it?

If its an irritant it looks like you are out of luck. If it makes it worse just stop. Treat the eczema and take it from there.

I dont know if this will help but...

Eczema is a common, chronic, non-contagious, inflammatory skin condition.

I doubt it is caused or accacerbated by pot smoking.

I would look for other causes first that would aggravate the problem: allergens in soap, changes in food/diet, and increases in stress are often culprits. See a dermatologist or allegerist for advice.

It is definitely possible to develop an allergy to marijuana.

I quit smoking for several years because of one. Every time I'd smoke my sinuses would block up hard and within a few days I'd have a sinus infection that required antibiotics to cure. After years of not smoking I was around smokers again and found that the second-hand smoke didn't have any negative effects on me. I tried smoking again and found that I'd grown out of the allergy.

I'd guess you'd treat a marijuana allergy the way you'd treat any other. Avoid the allergens and use antihistamines. There are desensitization programs ("allergy shots") but you might have a hard time finding an allergist who would set one up for a marijuana allergy.

The antihistamines of the day put me to sleep and I didn't want to "out" myself to a doctor, so I just stopped using it.

If you are alergic to it, try smoking only little amounts and see if your tolerance builds up. If your excema gets worse every tim you smoke, then I'd say quit. But if your okay with it, and it doesn't bother you, go right ahead and continue. O-o; You could always lotion your hands and arms and see if that helps at all.

What you are experiencing is repeated panic attacks. Once you have one you can become anxious about having another, which brings them on.

I think i was still a little paranoid when i wrote that post....Now that i think about it, the first time i got it was around three/four weeks after i had quit and it was really intense. I got given cream and wet dressings to clear it up, which took around a month. I had dots on my hands as if i had an STD or something, and i had to put on gloves when i went outside. After i had stopped putting on the cream, i also began toking a little and the rash re-appeared. Obviously, i had stopped using the cream too quickly. I was just really paranoid cuz i was really REALLY toked and obsessing over my hands thinking the dots were back. So, 2 hrs l8er i came 2 u guys 4 help..Thanx anyway!
