Default Eye Floaters?

I am noticing that i am suffering from eye floaters as i smoke more and more. They begun before i started smoking, yet they were barely noticeable. However, since i started smoking, they have increased and become colourful, etc. I'll give a description of them(NB: I have a feeling that some are normal, but i want to make sure):

At first(i had only ever smoked 2/3 times in my life), the eye floaters were little, see-through(or more like grey, darkish...hard 2 explain) dots falling down in midair. They had little circles in them as well. This happened every now and then - particularly when i looked at the blue sky.

As i started smoking regularly, i began to notice that if i was looking into a person's eyes and then looked away their eyes would stay in my vision for a split second or so. Then it was 10 split seconds. Now, it takes as much as a second for any image to escape my vision if i look at it long enough.

I also started to notice that when i looked at a light for a long time, then looked away i would see a big coloured circle in my vision(which i always used to get) but it constantly changed colour.

One day i was looking at the sun coming through closed blinds from my computer desk and i saw the colour of the light changing and the blinds getting darker. At the same time, i began to feel high. This was when i realised that something serious is going on.

I also noticed that in plain backgrounds i could see dots.

One incident i remember was when i rang a doorbell which was on a plain wall and noticed the wall 'moving' as such, or 'merging'...again, hard to explain.

At night, i began to have disturbances in my vision, such as green smoke, moving dots and, ultimately, colours. Out of curiosity, i stared at my lamp for a few seconds before i turned it off and began to see the dot become several shapes(a man working is the only one i can remember).

Today, i see coloured lines across my vision as well as the occasional cloudiness. When i look at a plain background i may see a line of all the rainbow colours. OK. There something just happened i was looking at the computer screen and, to my left, i was seeing heaps of colours on my wall. I looked at the wall and i now see two horizontal lines of pink and yellow just hovering in my vision.

Has anyone else ever experienced/heard of such problems associated with weed? It's not really a bad thing, it doesnt freak me out or anything, and doesn't annoy me as muich as you'd for some reason....Just a lil paranoid i guess..

Heheh, the little circles of colour you see, I see them too. I've seen them for years and years, ever since I was little. I always thought I was the only one that could see them, because no one else really noticed them. I can usually see them best when I squint up my eyes and stare towards the sun, or towards a light. I also notice that if a room is dim, if I stare continuously in one direction, without shifting my eyes (I know it might sound hard but it is possible to minimize the movement of your eyes to a mear twitch) the room gradually faded darker and darker. When I light up, the little circles of colour are more noticeable, same with the fading light.

You: Today, i see coloured lines across my vision as well as the occasional cloudiness. When i look at a plain background i may see a line of all the rainbow colours. OK. There something just happened i was looking at the computer screen and, to my left, i was seeing heaps of colours on my wall. Pink and yellow... Yesterday I was in my room, staring up towards the flouresent light in my ceiling. I then looked away and I could see the outline of the bulb imprinted in my vision. It was outlined in yellow, then the middle was pink. Mabye there is a light in the room that's causing it, or your eyes react to the computer screen or something?

Other than that... I think it's normal, because I see the same thing. O_o When I watch TV at night for a long time ( My tv is about a foot from my bed. xD) I start to see the edges of my vision go blurry, then colourful (Blue, purple, red) It doesn't bother me, I think it's just because your eyes get tired after a while.. -shrugs-

My guess would be that most of what you're perceiving are artifacts of vision that you would normally tune out.

Evolution (Yes, I am a heathen. I believe in evolution.) has set us up to "see" only those things that have some kind of survival value. What we perceive is just part of the information available through the eyes and visual cortex. When we get high, some of those filters are more-or-less disabled and we pick up on some of that "extraneous" information.

Once you've experienced it you can often switch those filters on and off at will.

Default Floaters

I have medically diagnosed floaters...when I shift my eyes to look at something it looks like I have a few little flies flying around. If you have floaters, which are debris suspended inside your eyeball, try this: leave a bright room and go into a really dark room and close your eyes tightly, you will see the floaters as little white spots. My floaters were caused by rapid movement of my head and not from smoking pot.

Cool

Eye floaters are normal.
Its easier to see them on lighter backgrounds or by looking into the sky. They are easily ignored too. I used to see them more often when I was younger, now if I shift my eyes around real quick I may see some "darker" floaters randomly moving about, but as I said they are easy to tune out.

Wow, finally someone has what I have too. If I look at a blue sky, or squint hard at light or a solid color object, I can see a transparent looking S shaped particle floating around, with small transparent dots on it. It looks as if a watermark or something were floating around my eye. So it's debris in the eye?

did a search for eye floaters and there is actually a site specifically for eye floaters: http://www.eyefloaters.com/ It's mainly on the treatment of them, but i found this on the site:
The most common cause of these floating specks in the vision is thickening and shrinkage of the vitreous, frequently starting in middle age. The vitreous gel can pull away from the inner wall of the eye, causing a vitreous detachment. When this happens, the material that was formerly against the wall of the eye, comes into the center of the eye, forming clumps or strands seen by the patient as floaters. Vitreous detachment and floaters are more common in people who are nearsighted, have had eye surgery, or had inflammation inside the eye. Floaters can also be caused by blood or inflammatory cells.
Patients are almost always told by eye doctors to live with their floaters. But in many cases this is impossible because the floaters affect their daily activities such as driving and reading. Awareness of the floater is greatly increased any time the pupil is made small, such as when looking at a white wall, or looking at the sky.

...couldn't find much when i did a search on marijuana and eye floaters, however...
