| The other day i found out something i figured id share with you all that backs up that marijuana is a bronchial dialator. Before smoking out of my bowl i took my peak flow (a device that lets your read how much air your lungs are capable of exhailing) It was about 450 liters/Min and about 10 mins after smoking it had rose to a little over 550 liters/Min and the morning after smoking it was a little below average at about 400 liters/Min i guess due to the irritation from smoking that previous night. Sorry if this has already been posted but i thought it was interesting and figured id share it with you all. ![]() |

| Yes, it's a bronchial dilator, good for asthma especially if vaporized or eaten... I like that you conducted this experiment, too many people just take everything at face-value without really testing things out. |

| It depends on whether or not you're sensitive to breathing smoke. Smoke is going to be irritating and for some people it is irritating enough to counteract the bronchodilator effects. This would be less likely to happen if you use a vaporizer. It wouldn't happen at all if you eat the marijuana.

| Thanks for posting this. I wish more people would realize this fact if they are experiencing it, and vocalize it. But in order to be correct, I have to digress. I'm talking about semantics - the anti-pot people always take advantage of that aspect. So let me clarify what I mean. My experience has been that some types of marijuana are better at bronchodiolation than others. This should just be a given assumption, since quality and variety can vastly vary between what individuals can get, because of our current political situation. You are not going to get much bronchodiolation from marijuana that's seedy and weak, and has the smell of gasoline or other chemicals in it from being smuggled over the international border into the United States. So saying marijuana is a bronchodiolator is not entirely correct. Nature's strongest natural bronchodiolator is actually THC. That is being more specific and spot on. However, my experience is that some marijuana, properly grown and using the right variety of marijuana; has not only THC, but as of yet an unidentified helper cannabinoid (or even several) cannabinoids known as THCV that either help potentiate the effects - or could even be bronchodiolators in themselves. It's been written that the THC in flowering marijuana plants is nature's strongest bronchodiolator. I would like to add that, with engineering of different and newer strains, there are some marijuana varieties better suited than others for this particular medical use. But since all flowering marijuana has at least some THC, then at least some of the benefits of bronchodiolation are going to exist in just about all flowers of marijuana. Quote:

In my experience it was a very peculiar and strongly grown variety of mostly sativa, resembling The Pure. It was an early (circa 1990-1991) super strain of Kush, supposedly, but I can't confirm yet. I'm still trying to get that info. My experience was good because it was all I was using for over five years. Anything else I tried did not have the same powerful effect of bronchodialation. I'm told it was strong because it was grown strong with powerful lights. However I have never ever encountered any other variety with such a noticeable bronchodialating effect. The other effects were extreme paranoia for the first 10 or 15 minutes, coupled with soaring thoughts (not non-sensical thoughts either) followed by a motivating, bright and positive feeling that lasted for at least an hour to a couple hours. The bronchodialation effect seemed to stay in place after two sessions. Probably would not need any more than a couple puffs for someone who would just want the benefits of the bronchodialation effect. | |

| Could you elaborate, or at least cite a source for that claim?
