| Hey I was hoping someone could help me out as I desperately want to get high (since I have nothing else to do). Well, Friday I ended up in the hospital because I was having some major trouble breathing and couldnt hold down any food or drink. After a night in the hospital, quite a few breathing treatments, IV w/ antibiotics, and a few shots of steroids and adrenaline, the doctor decided to let me out the next day. Now I know smoking is a bad idea for a while...but a friend left his cheap vaporizer here that would sure be alot better than nothing.......and Im willing to make some cannabutter (hopefully right this time). I am on 500mg ciprofloxacin 2x a day and an albuterol inhaler Im supposed to use about every 6 hours. The doctor told me I should never smoke again unless I want to be on an oxygen tank by age 45 (and Im only 18 now).... I dont really buy that. Im not having any trouble breathing now....I actually feel basically fine but dont want to get worse. So much conflicting information on the internet is making the decision hard so I have a few main questions. 1. Will vaporizing irritate my lungs? Or is it more likely to act as a bronchialdilator and help improve my condition? 2. Is MJ ok in combination with the other perscriptions Im on? 3. Is it a waste to use chronic in brownies? 3g left and nothing to do with it 4. Will being under the influence weaken my immune system and make me more susceptible to the infection? 5. If I shouldnt use than how long should I wait until I do? Thanks for your help |

| Having recently watched my father die of COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) after five years on oxygen, if I were you I'd stay away from smoking permanently. Quote:

| Thanks for the response, such nice and clear answers to all of my questions. Sorry to hear about your father. I dont want to vape the chronic because my friends vape is a cheap one I think itll waste quite a bit. Im just not gonna risk smoking or vaping any more for now...not worth the risk on my lungs. When I said I have nothing else to do its just for the next few days because they told me to basically stay in bed for 4 days, and especially out of the sun. I live in southern California in the desert........its was 106 at 11AM and should be 113 at some point today. REALLY unpleasant when sick. Basically I figure if Im gonna be sitting around anyways (including doing things like playing guitar, games etc.) Id be having alot more fun high. Maybe I should use the chronic on a leary biscuit (1g at a time or something)? What do you think about that? |

| i have the same problems, though mine dont sound nearly as serious as yours (at least my doctor has never mentioned an oxygen tank). after i went to the hospital, i quit for a week while taking antibiotics. then i resumed my normal routine of smoking a lot of pot and a few cigs here and there for a while, quitting occasionally. about a year later (almost exactly to the day actually), i was back in the hospital. i quit everything for about two weeks, cigarettes permanently, but waas back to smoking weed for a week after buying a vaporizer. i have now quit weed for other reasons, but the vaporizer definately seemed easier on the lungs. plus, it conserves your weed .when i start smoking again (only occasionally) it will be mostly vaporizer, maybe a bowl or two out of my friends bong. and i do love cooking with weed. and another note: exercise helps. it helped me even when i was still smoking, and quitting and exercising has brought my lungs to the best shape they have been in in years.
