Bongs can go around quite a bit, I was wondering if there where any diseases that can be spread through the community bong?

Yes, there are communicable diseases that can be transferred through bong use. But it's not any more than could be transferred through sharing a joint or a pipe, I would think.

Basically, all the ones that travel through air or exist in saliva. Strep throat is a good example, also mononucleosis, but also all the common ones like the cold, influenza, etc. Pink eye would probably transfer as well since your eye is only a few inches from the mouth of the bong when you hit it, but pink eye is easy to diagnose and hopefully any friends you have with pink eye are quarantining themselves and not sharing a bong with anyone.

Any disease that can be transmitted by exchange of spit would be transmitted by sharing a bong. Colds, flu, measles, ebola...

My friend got bronchitus from smoking a joint with her other friend... o.o It was funny because when I went to the doctors he asked me "Have you been doing any 'certain activities'?" ANd gave me a weired smirk.. As if he knew.. But then again, my jacket probably smelt a little like it so... -shrug- lol

But yeah. You can pick up anything from anywhere. Bongs, pipes, bubblers, joints. Even just touching something and putting your fingers in your mouth could contract stuff like the flu or a cold.
